Has lots of good pictures
Thanks so much everyone!! I went into lab for an extra 8 hours on my own to study and it helped. It just seems like she said, "here ya go ... do it" and we had to figure out on our own WHAT we were suppose to be looking for. It's only the 1st week, lol. *bangs head on desk* Oh Lord, please help me.... :rotfl:
The way some people teach things can influence how I am going to do. It's my ultimate responsibility but some people are really vague, some really outlined ... it's going to be a trip this summer, I can see it now.
...Gotta go, have to study more micro!
I know what you mean! My instructure has vague notes she goes by to do her lecture. I wish she would actually lecture by doing an outline ....writing the important stuff on the board. It would be so much easier to follow.
As for lab, I wish our book had good pics too. We took a practice lab practical, and I think the slides we made were better than the slides on the practice practical. I hope they have better slides for the practical, or I may be in trouble Tuesday night!!!! (I may have to go get reading glasses just to see the slides better!) :chuckle
Good luck!

Good sites - thanks :) The cdc website has good photos too - I think it's www.cdc.gov
edited because I got the link wrong :imbar:
The site I posted above is the main CDC site - here is the link for images - http://phil.cdc.gov/phil/home.asp
Hey all. Wow, this is already the 2nd week of my micro class and we have our first exam next thursday. Our exam will cover 3 chapters and boy......do those three chapters have a TON of info. Im already kind of overwhelmed. But I guess as long as I make a study schedule and stick to it I should be ok. Our class is using the Tortora*Funke*Case book which uses Microbiologyplace.com as a book supplement. But just my luck, the access code that came with my book does not seem to work on the site. So I can't do any of the chapter quizzes. (Which is probably the best thing for me to be doing right now) Does anyone else know of a site that has practice quizzes and such? Or if anyone is taking this class right now, do you know if two people can use the same access code? Thanks!
Here is a good site,
I am taking micro in the fall, but I am bass ackwards since I have already taken A &P II and I had a professor that LOVES histology, I used this one to study a lot. I printed out the pictures and made little flash cards, it really helped.

Hi everyone, I recently started Micro and had my 1st lecture and lab. I walked out of there scared, lol.
I have been looking for some good sites that show some good lab pictures. I have looked at that cellsalive site and I didnt really like it - maybe I'm missing something. And I noticed someone posted this one:
http://student.ccbcmd.edu/courses/bio141/index.html and I have that one bookmarked as well but I didnt find any lab pictures in there. (I admit I didnt have long to look).
Anyways - my point is - are there any useful sites out there with good lab pictures, etc? My book has a website for it but it doesnt really have any lab stuff - just lecture review.
Thanks so much!
