I was just wondering what the average grades for microbiology courses are? I'm curious because a bunch of people I know have retaken Micro again because of not so desirable grades. I know micro is very hard and I just wanted to see if anyone else is having a hard time getting above a 3.0 or 3.5
I was also wondering what are the average grades for ANP I and II courses are. Those classes are super hard too.
If you all don't mind sharing!
Thanks!
it was really interesting. worked hard and earned my grade. got an a in micro. taking a+p next semester. out of 60 students, there were 6 a's, mostly b average, and some c's. there were probably about 20% that failed. pay attention, study, and go to class... these are no brainers... but amazing how many people try and float in unprepared... then whine about a d/f.

Any recommendations for prepping for Anatomy (we take Anatomy & Physiology seperately), Chemistry, Micro & Physiology. I'm reading up on as much as I can because I'm hoping that if I grasp the general concept I'll be able to pay better attention in class. I've recently purchased Anatomy & Physiology made Incredibly Easy, Barron's Human Anatomy flashcards, and Chemistry for Dummies. The flashcards have been really helpful I can tell already. Just familiarizing myself with the terms I think will make a difference because I won't feel like I'm in foreign territory once I start in the fall.
I received As in all three courses. I, like many others on here, busted my butt! The people you know who are not making good grades are not studying very hard or are not studying at all.
This isn't always true, many people with lower I.Q.'s may not be able to pull a (A), no matter how hard they try.
I received an A- for A&P 1, B+ for A&P 2 and possibly and A- for Micro.
I just thought Micro was less challenging than A&p. I did not study as hard as I did in Anatomy. I just completed micro last week. I sold my house, moved, and was working fulltime while I was taking Micro, 4 nights a week. I did not have much time to study and I still did very well. I used flashcards, while I was on breaks I studied. I had to write a paper about 20 different diseases around the world and also a presentations. My plate was full for 6 weeks. Thank God it is over. Good luck to you. If I can do it, you can too.
I have one more week of Micro and so far my averages are:
Lecture Exams: A
Lecture Quizzes: B
Lab Quizzes: B
Lab Practicals: A
And I am pretty sure I'm getting an A on my unknowns.
She's also giving us a make-up quiz next week to boost our grades, so hopefully my quiz average will go up to an A, too.
Good luck!!

I started doing that... I got all the bones and the main muscles memorized. However, once it started getting into the nitty-gritty like all the bone markings and origins, insertions and actions, I needed something more hands-on than a textbook to follow. I figure that memorizing to that level of detail without having a model would just be a waste of time.
