Microbiology Fall 2013!!!

Are you all ready!!? I am super nervous so I wanted to create a thread for support!!

In my nervousness I bought some additional supplies which I hope helps! I got this for Micro Lab

It was recommended by my school and the reviews are great.

I also got the study guide the goes along with my text book.

I hope this helps!! I'm going full time this semester but I will be studying my micro every single day/night!

I am taking Micro this semester too! I have an excellent instructor. She is very passionate about her subject, a bit intense but very good. I am looking forward to a fun informative semester!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my micro teacher! My schedule changed last minute and I am SO glad! She is very passionate about the subject and is actually a researcher at St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital! I know I'm going to do excellent in this class! YAY!

Also she teaches strictly from the power point! So she said (without saying) that we pretty much won't even need our book. She says our labs are going to be a lot of fun! I am so excited!

Meeep!! The study guide is excellent! It summarizes the most important topics of the chapter in a few short pages and it has knowledge-check quizzes as well! I won't be using my textbook very much in this class, but i will read these chapter summaries a few times before the tests!

How is everyone doing?

So far, Micro is really interesting! We're going over the history of Micro, and some of the things are really interesting. Like the spontaneous generation, LOL!

Micro was my favorite class!!! At the end of the semester we had about 45 diseases that we had to memorize and know the symptoms, treatments and preventions for. It was a lot of info but I feel that it prepared me well for nursing school, even though I'm not quite there yet.

I'm taking Micro this fall as well along with Intro to Chemistry. My last semester of pre-reqs so I'm nervous but so far I love my professors. Goodluck to everyone! :)

We took cultures today from things around our school, bodies, wherever. Next week we get to see what kind of bacteria are growing on these seemingly innocent places!
