Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, anyone successfully complete these in one term?

Published

I need encouragement, I just signed up for Microbiology, Anatomy, and Physiology ( I am not talking about API or AP II, actually taking a full anatomy course and seperate physiology course to fufill my AP requirements). I am just dying to get my prereq's overwith so I can apply to nursing school, or at least get on a wait list. I have absolutely everything else I need done.

Anyone conquer this in one term and get through it??? I will not be working at all with the exception of my four hours a week volunteering at a hospital and I am married with a 2 year old who will be in daycare full time while I attempt this.

Pulleeaase give me some encouragement, stories, whatever!

It all depends on your personal abilities. I have a BS in biology and took multiple science classes with labs every semester for 4 years of college. Those classes definitely required a lot more attention than my electives or non-science based courses but it was doable. I had friends and sorority sisters who could barely make it through freshman biology for non-majors but they still had almost a 4.0 in their chosen majors. It just depends on your skill level and ability to learn information quicky, but the best of luck to you!

many of the things i learned in a&p i were things i needed for a basis in micro.

really because my school makes us take micro first before we can take a&p.

It's better to take NAS161-162, I think. It's doable. :)

I just finished A&P II and Microbiology in the same semester along with nine other hours, and I survived with all A's. It can be done. You just have to really focus, and find links between the two courses. You can do anything you put your mind to do, and you will be so glad you have both of those courses finished that it will be worth the extra effort. Good luck to you!

Im taking AandP II, Micro, Chem101, and intermediate algebra in the fall...do I thing Its doable...Hell Yes its doable, dont let anyone tell you its not, Its all on you if you can do it or not.

I am considering A&P II, Micro and Gen Chem. Quitting my full-time job possible will land a part-time job depends on the job market. My friend is a science teacher at a HS so that help.

You can do it...if you want, and you don't need any trite inspirational phrases to motivate you. I pulled all my pre-nursing reqs in 6 months...the summer and the fall term. It was 29 units, including A&P I + II, Micro, Chem I & II, Nutrition, Psych 101, and Dev. Psych...and pulled a 3.9.

What was your summer load?

I am going to be insane through the end of the year. In the summer I will be taking Sociology and Communications online and then Nutrition and Statistics. In the fall I will be taking Micro, A&P II, Organic Chem, a combination medical math/terminology which is online, an art class and a philosophy class.

Anybody can answer below:

I am considering the same course load for fall but Gen Chem instead. I received approval from a Chem teacher at a community college to skip pre gen chem. What do you think about not have any chemistry background? I have always been an excellent (A's) math student in algerbra I, II and calculus. Well I am about to take a month the rest of the summer getting learning it. I found A&P+lab I really easy when I realized what I needed to do for the class after exam one. I have one degree so I know what college classes require from their students.
