Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

Miami dade does not have part time in spring right?

I think they dont. But your best shot is to call or go in person. They tend to change rules and policies on demand and not inform to well. So they may be having a part time option this spring but you need to ask to find out.

I'm so glad I found this forum. I've already applied for the program my gpa is low cum 2.56 my science 3.31. I applied for the accelerated program bc I have a BA. Does anyone know anything about this SOS boot camp?

I called today and they comfirmed that they only offer the part time for generic on the fall.

The SOS boot camp is a newly implemented requirement, and the students entering into the program for Fall 2014 will be the first to take it. I can only speculate from the name that it is a course designed to prepare us for what lies ahead. I am thinking it is to improve retention rates.

Today, I went to see an advisor to see if im on track to apply for spring 2015 and I ended up applying at that moment. The processes is way easier than I thought. I just need to make sure I pass my micro class.

Thats good that you could apply, what did they say about the applicants gpa or they arent saying anything? How you doingg in your micro class, currently I have a C, i hope i pass too and hopefully O can bring it up to a B. A C will affect me a lot I think

60% is based on your science courses. 40% on your overall gpa. Im averaging about a B in Micro.

:) I'm so happy to find out, they took away the entrance exam. One less thing to worry about! I'm applying for the spring 2014 as well. I'll be completing A&P2 and Micro this Fall.
