Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

Welcome Crodriguez1, i think that in order to apply for spring you need to have finish your pre-requisites before september 1st, i am not 100% sure but Its better if you ask in advance. I tell you this because I called last week And I was told that.

Hi I'm new here. I'm planning to apply for the Fall Full-Time Program 2015. Please as soon as you all receive your acceptance letter share both GPA so I can have an idea. I don't know if now is going to be harder to get in with no entrance test. Thank you all !

Hey guys remember to share your GPA once accepted for Spring 2015 so I can have an idea of what to expect. I will apply for Fall 2015.

Lilian2727 Micro doesn't count as long as you don't have more than 3 grade of C in any of the Science classes. I'm worried too bc I have a C in micro too and a C in AP 1 Lab, but A in the lecture.

How Will I Be Selected?

All students who meet basic admission requirements will be considered. Selection criteria will be based on cumulative GPA and successful completion of or enrollment in the required program pre-requisite courses listed below:

CHM 1033 and 1033L

PHI 2604 and ENC 1101

BSC 2085 and 2085L*

BSC 2086 and 2086L*

Blnurse, are you serious?? My micro grade wont count for my cumulative science gpa? Can you explain me a little bit better please I still dont understand

It still count toward your GPA, but I guess they check more AP classes go to MDC Nursing click on the left FAQs. There is one in particular that mentions how we are selected.

Lillian, didn't you apply this month? If so, what did the advisor say in regards to which classes they will use to determine your two GPAs?

Blnurse im going to check later and will try to go to mdc and get more information. Sperkyperk i was going to go and apply two weeks ago but I couldnt and now I want to go when i finish my micro class to know my grade

Lili. Micro was the hardest for me. Wait until grade are posted. You still have time before Sept 1. Did you take Introduction to Health Care ? We have to take that if not they don't let you apply. I'm taking that next semester and also Speech. Good luck.

I know, micro has been extremely hard for me and have me right now under stress. I have a c so far but still have two more tests hopefully I can pass with a B. I took intro to health care last semester online and it was not difficult at all.
