Miami Dade College Spring 2016 nursing program admission

Updated:   Published

Good morning/night to all who are reading this,

I created this post in the hopes that all applicants applying for the nursing program at Miami dade submit their experience they have had so far and also submit any questions they might have. I'm currently applying for the accelerated option but would like to hear what others are doing in the part time and generic option. A little about me is that I have a BSN in health science (2014) and have taken all the prerequisites with the exception of A&P 2 (which I am retaking in summer b June 22).

Right now my biggest concern is the hesi a2 exam we have to take and making sure i ace it because my science gpa is not so hot right now. I have read prior posts and it seems like A&P is the most challenging section. Has anyone taken it as yet? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm worried that after they evaluate my degree they might not take my science subjects and make me re do them ? ? . Has any one's transcript been evaluated yet?

Me to. Who do you have?

I got my books the day before class. I was suppose to recieve a call way before after going 3times to see if my books were ready and never got a call :(.

What days are you studying?

I have Hanna. And you???

I'm on campus Tuesday and Wednesday. I have 3 hours break from 11-3 on Tuesday and I'm done at 1pm on Wednesday. So I usually study on my break and right after class on Wednesday. I'm also off on Monday, if you or anyone want to review everything before the exam on Tuesday, I can meet on campus.

Is anyone taking Annette Tomlinson at 1140 on Wednesday?

Can I get your number I need to ask your something

Man I totally choked in bed making. I had a major headache. Has anyone ever struggled in lab when you had it? Felt like was the only one who couldn't make a bed :(

I have her at 11:40. Her method can get a bit complicated If you don't follow. I've been in school for the past years and math has been my Forte so I didn't even pay any mind to her method I just stick to mine. If you need help, we can make a study group before the exam.

Sure. Just say when ?

Have you memorized all the abbreviations and household items stuff?

So far skills has been my worst class. I believe I did well on the fundamentals test.

My bed making skills are mediocre, I love medication administration , so you will find something that is your forte. I didnt had a hard time because I had a great professor. I would recommend meeting with some classmates and practice in the lab a day or 2 before. It greatly improves your success for the test.

I'm a hands on learner so in skills and assessment I'm good at but fundamental... man don't get me started on how much it's been killing me to be reading that giant book every single day LOL

I already did half of the memorization. It isn't that bad. I find flashcards to be very helpful when it comes to that
