I created this post in the hopes that all applicants applying for the nursing program at Miami dade submit their experience they have had so far and also submit any questions they might have. I'm currently applying for the accelerated option but would like to hear what others are doing in the part time and generic option. A little about me is that I have a BSN in health science (2014) and have taken all the prerequisites with the exception of A&P 2 (which I am retaking in summer b June 22).
Right now my biggest concern is the hesi a2 exam we have to take and making sure i ace it because my science gpa is not so hot right now. I have read prior posts and it seems like A&P is the most challenging section. Has anyone taken it as yet? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm worried that after they evaluate my degree they might not take my science subjects and make me re do them ?? . Has any one's transcript been evaluated yet?
They are not really that strict on the uniform as long as it looks the same. Buy from the store called Blue Angels across the Medical Campus parking lot, way cheaper than from school store and they embroil the logo.
I have barely used my stethoscope, I would recommend a Littman stethoscope in the 40-60 range. Your experience may vary, but we havent really used them much so far.
Professor matters more than clinical site, a good professor can make any site better.
Tips wise is to study a bit at least each day, make good use of the website they will give you access to in the first semster, is called Evolve, you can do practice questions there. And relax, it may seem like a lot in the beggining but you will get the rhythm down the line.

Thank you. I like to help, I know what most of you are going through, I felt the same way back then. I have one more semester to finish. I start my last semester in January, that one is the scariest of them all. Feel free to ask anything you have doubts on.

Sucks that leisure time may not be a reality though. How much time have you had to "party" or go out during your time in the program?
