Miami Dade College Spring 2016 nursing program admission

Updated:   Published

Good morning/night to all who are reading this,

I created this post in the hopes that all applicants applying for the nursing program at Miami dade submit their experience they have had so far and also submit any questions they might have. I'm currently applying for the accelerated option but would like to hear what others are doing in the part time and generic option. A little about me is that I have a BSN in health science (2014) and have taken all the prerequisites with the exception of A&P 2 (which I am retaking in summer b June 22).

Right now my biggest concern is the hesi a2 exam we have to take and making sure i ace it because my science gpa is not so hot right now. I have read prior posts and it seems like A&P is the most challenging section. Has anyone taken it as yet? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm worried that after they evaluate my degree they might not take my science subjects and make me re do them ? ? . Has any one's transcript been evaluated yet?

I just left medical campus from paying the $100 and turning in my response form, didn't buy the name plate yet. I'll do that after I finish everything required before orientation or whenever I have to go to medical campus again.. Unless I can get it at the homestead campus which is closer to me and is where I was accepted

Hi everyone, my boyfriend just got in for Medical Campus full time. i'm so happy for him! He already paid his deposit and turned in his response form but what is this name plate that everybody keeps talking about? it didn't say anything about that in the acceptance email or admissions page.

It's a pin name plate that says your name on it.

You need it for clinicals. As Sara stated earlier, it takes quite a bit to get there(mine took like 6-7 weeks) and it's only like 8 bucks so I recommend going to the bookstore and buying it as soon as possible.

Also, SCANTRONS, You need red scantrons from the bookstore for your exams in each one of your classes. Each teacher will require about 3-4 scantrons from you so buy ALOT. I bought 80 scantrons when I first started the program because by the time I get there for my part time classes at 6pm, the stupid bookstore is closed so I never had to worry going to the bookstore ever again :D

I suggest you start the physical exam and immunizations already guys! I had everything and was at my doctor''s for over and hour. After that I had to go to LabCorp (In my case) for the screening. I got the influenza and tetorifice immunization (Re-activate). These people want blood lol not just the paper. Anybody taking CPR this Saturday at Kendall?

I'll be there at kendall campus!

Hello everyone,

congratulations to the ones that have gotten accepted. I got accepted to both the generic and accelerated options. I have a bachelors in Biology and I took pharmacology already. However, I don't know if pharm nursing is the same class. I have never taken 21 credits in a semester (accelerated). I need some guidance in deciding which path I should take :)

Hello everyone. My name is Melissa. I have been following this thread for a while now, but i just got around to creating my account.

This has been my second time applying to the nursing program, and i finally got accepted.:]

I was accepted to the generic full time option at the Homestead campus. I received my email on Friday.

by the way, congratulations to everyone who got in.

The date for my orientation is November 13th.

Today i went to the medical campus to submit my response form along with the payment.

i will be doing my background check on Thursday as well as some of the vaccines i need.

I have also signed up for the car/bls class at the Kendall campus for saturday morning, which i see some of you have as well.

Did you guys pay for one year or two year for complio

I signed up for 2 years so I don't have to worry about it again.

I paid for the 2 years too, if not you'll have to pay next year again. How did you guys register for the CPR/BLS class on Saturday at Kendall and how much was it ? I'd like to do that too

I made an appt for my fingerprints and background check on Friday, as well as, finishing up the rest of my immunization and blood work. If we haven't finished the 3 Hep B shots series are we supposed to apply to get exempted?

I am very happy it seems that everybody was accepted. I have to registered for cpr classes tomorrow becuase they give app for registration now. I will do it at the medical campus on friday. I registered for the compolio, the background is tomorrow morning and I will do the app for the wellness center today for the physical. I also did my bash id yesterday when I accepted my seat on the righ track guys let get this done
