Miami Dade College Spring 2016 nursing program admission

Updated:   Published

Good morning/night to all who are reading this,

I created this post in the hopes that all applicants applying for the nursing program at Miami dade submit their experience they have had so far and also submit any questions they might have. I'm currently applying for the accelerated option but would like to hear what others are doing in the part time and generic option. A little about me is that I have a BSN in health science (2014) and have taken all the prerequisites with the exception of A&P 2 (which I am retaking in summer b June 22).

Right now my biggest concern is the hesi a2 exam we have to take and making sure i ace it because my science gpa is not so hot right now. I have read prior posts and it seems like A&P is the most challenging section. Has anyone taken it as yet? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm worried that after they evaluate my degree they might not take my science subjects and make me re do them ? ? . Has any one's transcript been evaluated yet?

I read that for the Hesi entrance there is a pop up calculator. I wonder if they let you use if for the Math portion at all time. I just started to study for the Hesi and I don't want to struggle doing of the math by hand since there is a LOT of info for the science section. Please I would like to know if anyone has done the Hesi Exam already. Mine is on 8/27. I'm applying second time. I will never give up. Also taking classes for fall, almost finishing my AA in pre nursing.

Yes, you can use the pop calculator at any time, during the math section.

I took the HESI and I got a 94 on it.

Thanks, this time they are not looking at your cumulative GPA. only your HESI score and your science GPA.

What do you mean by the total of all sum is 81.73? Are you talking about the HESI score?

No, the 81.73 is the sum of 40% science GPA y 60% HESI test. Do you guys thinks I have chance I hear that not a lot of people will apply for spring they were scared with the test. I was checking in 2014 when the have the teas that a lot of people were accepted with test low 70 and 3.3 GPA.

I will appreciate all your responses, thanks

Hey guys hows it going. I wanna apply for the spring 2016 but the deadline is september . I'm only missing that intro to healthcare course and unfortunately I wont be able to get that course before September since they offer that on august. my overall GPA is 3.62 and my science GPA is 3.76. Now about the HESI, do you guys recommend me to buy the HESI A2 book they require is it helpful? or not?

So if I remember correctly...I had my HSC0003 exempted by showing them my license and CPR card. After verification, just pay $15 to process. I don't know if it still applies for this time around? Try asking though so you don't have to take the course?

Hi, I got 78 HESI and 3.5 science GPA, If I not get in Miami Dade I will apply at Larkin nursing school
