I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.
I will start:
I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)

I read in another thread that the SFWF grant is only for unemployed students who are not receiving financial aid or their financial aid does not cover certain percentage of their tuition or something like that. How certain is this? Do you have any other info regarding the SFWF grant? I have financial aid; however I still need money to buy uniforms, some of the books, metro rail pass, etc. I really need this grant. I have decided to dedicate 100% of my time to the program. Btw, I remember they said at orientation Achieve must be completed at school from now to the first day of class. Nurse Logic 2.0 is already available for Med campus students.
Contact the SF workforce about the requirements for the grant. I know there are income and/or employment criteria. I lost my job and am not eligible until actively drawing unemployment, which is hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
I'm new to this so please bare with me. I am almost finished with my courses to apply for nursing school. My problem is that I only need to put microbiology in my schedule. At Broward College my schedule is filled and I wanted to take the course at miami dade. But i wont be taking A&P 1 and 2 until the fall term coming up and I know that A&P 1 is a prerequisite for microbiology. would Miami dade override it to allow me to take both at the same time or no? Has anyone here taken both at one time at Miami Dade?
I took A&P 1 & 2 (and both labs), and microbio all at Miami Dade this past semester. It's unusual for them to allow it, but it never hurts to ask. Good luck!

Explain your situation to an advisor and ask them to sign you up for all the classes. If one says no just ask another. Ask a few of them if you need to, and you'll usually find one that will do it for you.
