Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
   
2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
   
3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
   
4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.
   

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

Ay ya yai. I'm sorry for all of this, it's just... When my friend called me today to tell me, we were both frkn out and I felt I had to share with you guys. I'm glad someone called the medical campus to confirmed. I feel so much better now. Sorry for raising the level of stressed to a minor heart attack!!!!

Today was just a glimpse of how it will be in the next 2-3 weeks haha! 😄

Update!!!

My friend and I went to the medical campus and asked if they have been sending acceptance letters out? They advisor said "absolutely not". He got angry to hear someone could lie about getting accepted when in fact all they are doing right now is evaluating! So there you have it, they are evaluating our applications. I told my friend to tell her friend "lying doesn't get you very far in life" and now she's known as the liar in that class. Again, they haven't sent anything out yet. They will be sending letters in June.

Annnnnnnd I'm truly sorry for stressing everyone about that girl receiving a letter, when now we all know she was lying.

It does not matter for admission but you need to take it before u reach 35 credits I think

I also want to inform you all of the grading scale.....93-100% is an A...anything less than a 77% is failing. I don't know of any other schools that use this grading scale. It's nice to know this ahead of time instead of the first day of class!

I don't know what is more important if my acceptance letter or understanding and passing my statistics class which I'm taking now. Omg in pain 😭😭😭😭
