Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Published

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

why does it say that?!! are they really trying to make sure no one gets in? what the hell?! i just worked my ass off these last semesters that would be extremely unfair if im not qualified because of sls and foreign languages:no:.

That will not prevent you from getting in, you will need to make sure you do it or u won't be able to get ur bsn

I thought two consecutive years/courses of the same foreign language was a graduating requirement in all schools for a bachelors degree. Is a foreign language requirement new to most of you? Or is this a requirement now for an AA/AS?

That's a requirement to continue your bsn or an AA in pre nursing

If you know Spanish do the test, that will cover the language

I don't think that's an option. Did your advisor told you that ?

If you take the CLEP test and pass it you receive college credits for it. You might want to look into it since it may be a better alternative for you than taking the class. Discuss it with your advisor.

They already start sending acceptance letters?!?!

That's what I heard but... Nobody on this thread has gotten anything... My friend has a all cum gpa 4.0 and a science gpa of 4.0... And she hasn't gotten anything... But she told me today that a girl in one of her classes got an acceptance letter today. I'm trying to find out more info. That's all I've gotten.

The fact that my friend with a 4.0 has not gotten anything it making me feel a bit better...

Based on previous threads I can assume that is not by GPA that they send letters, but anyway tell ur friend to tell her friend to show her the letter cause we all need confirmation lol
