Hello future nursing student friends! I've applied to MHCC, PCC, OHSU, CCC and Columbia Gorge in the Dalles. I wanted to start a thread to help ease some anxiety! What are everyone's stats? Where did you apply? What is your GPA? Do you hav work experience>? Did you do any preinterview point calculations? Where would you like to go?
I already answered my first question. My GPA is 3.84 and I have over 5 years experience as a medical assistant. According to my calculations at MHCC I will have 62 points, PCC 59, CCC 50, OHSU unknown, Columbia Gorge 53 (I think). I'd love to go to MHCC because it is close to my house but really any school will do. I'm hopful to get in this year, but it is my first year applying so fingers crossed. I'd love to hear from everyone else who is applying.
Does anyone know when the second PCC orientation is? The one in September?
It looks like Sept. 19th, 8:30am-4pm which is student only and mandatory for admitted people. There is an optional day on the 18th where families can come and that is 6:30pm-8:30pm.
Hey PCC alternates and accepted students! How many of you declined your acceptance or alternate spot? Just curious cause I am getting so anxious!
Hey, so I have seen maybe 3-5 people decline their alternate spots through various threads and another 3-5 accept their alternates spots. As far as the people admitted, I only know of a few that landed admission and so far the 3 of us have all accepted seats at this point. Not too sure past that though. No I don't think they will contact anyone until after the 15th or even the 20th (orientation). As far as I know, no one has been contacted yet.
So my family and I have been planning our family vacation for the last 6 months. We are leaving the country this Saturday and will not be returning until July 14th. I contacted PCC and sent in all the details for our itinerary, and bank statements as to when tickets where purchased. I have been excused for the mandatory orientation in June, but was messaged details in regards to the orientation in September. I am getting anxious about missing the call or email, I think they usually call you. I will most be definitely making a trip into town to check my messages and email every day! Do you guys know if they call and send an email? Or what the protocol typically is for alternates?

Oh yeah that's right, I knew that lol. Shoot I was hoping we would get to meet but we will get the chance in Sept. I believe they call you, at least that is what I heard they have done in the past. If I hear anything next week at orientation, I will email you and let you know so you can be on the lookout. Have fun on your vacation!!! :)
