MGHIHP Accelerated BSN May 2014

Published

Hi everyone!

I'm applying to MGHIHP for the Fall 2014 (or summer I guess since it starts in May) semester because I think it looks like a great program with good reviews from past and current students. I submitted my application on the deadline, November 1st. The only problem right now is that only two of my three recommendations are in. I'm really upset about it because I don't want it to negatively reflect on me. I spoke to this woman multiple times to submit the letter and she promised that she would by the end of the day on November 1st (which was 50 minutes ago). It's officially late now :-( Does anyone have any advice about what I should do?? Do you think it'll affect my application? Any other applicants out there??

I have still to send in my grades for this past semester. My school is changing the website and it has been down since the 21st and they don't open until January 2nd. I do know my grades but I don't have a screen shot or doc to send them. What should I do? :(

Hi Lisa,

I would call admissions and explain the situation to them. Let them know that you are able to see your grade but cannot send it to them. If the school opens back up on Jan 2 and you can get it then, just send it to them then. Otherwise let them know, they have been pretty understanding! Good luck!

Hey everyone! Has anyone heard back yet or have an idea of when they'll let us know?

@kldurand haven't heard anything yet...I believe we're supposed to hear back within the next few weeks though?

Hey everyone!

I've also applied to MGH's ABSN program for May 2014, along with a few other programs. I hope we all hear back soon from MGH... it would save me a lot of nail biting :) Good luck to everyone!

Also, does anyone know anything about the student community at MGH? I'm just a little worried seeing that MGH isn't your typical school with an established campus.

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on applying for next years program. Just wondering what everyone is doing for funding? My understanding is that since this is considered a second bachelor's degree federal student loans aren't really available to cover the cost. I'm just trying to figure out how to pay for these programs and thought I'd see what others are doing. Good luck to all of you!!!

Oh_amyFrom what I understand you should still be able to get student loans even though this is a second bachelor's. The only thing you would not be eligible for are pell grants.

Last year, they heard back on Sunday January 13th, so hopefully we'll hear back within the next week or so!

I am so nervous, I just wish we could hear THIS week! ;)

Maybe someone should call and ask if it will be this week or next week… and not tell them your name

I talked to them yesterday morning and they said decisions will be sent out shortly. Of course that's doesn't mean much but I would bet that the announcement will be in the next few days. I keep checking my email!
