Published

Creating an early post for MGH application and incoming cohort for fall 2020. Good luck to everyone and look forward to hearing from you! If anyone wants to share essay ideas or critiques, that'd be awesome!

Has anyone been accepted for Fall 2020?

I don’t think they reach out to anybody until mid-February

I saw that they extended their deadline to 3/1. Is it worth applying? Or would they have filled their seats before I apply?

Specializes in N/A.

Can anyone comment how rigorous the program is?

Also, can it be done part-time?

Thanks!

Hi everyone! I work at MGH Navy Yard (not in association with MGHIHP) and I must say that the campus is in the perfect spot. I commute in and it is so easy to take any train into North Station and either walk or take the shuttle. Students I talk to seem happy! Excited to hear back.

Is it possible to survive without a car in the area? Trying to decide if I would need one.

Definitely! It depends where you would be living. Would actually not recommend having a car if you're living in Boston itself because parking is a nightmare. If you decide to live in a suburb having a car is beneficial, but not necessary.

Whoo! Finally got my stupid high school transcript cleared (yay!) I'm nervous but trying to be hopeful about getting an interview. Anyone know about the strength of the clinical placements, specifically for psych

I asked them a month ago about a potential interview. But they replied that interview will not be a part of the admission process.

Oh, interesting! I see we've applied to similar schools (and for psych too!) Do you have a top choice? Do you know their acceptance rate?

I will most likely commit to Yale but I am still waiting to hear back from Vanderbilt, MGH, and Penn. I will then compare the cost and make a final decision! For MGH IHP, I don't know their acceptance rate but according to previous years' forum, it seems like they're generous in giving FAs and scholarships.

Congratulations on your acceptance to Yale. That is an incredible accomplishment! It does seem that they're generous. My top choice is Vandy, mostly due to location and length of program, but I'm unsure what my chances are there since I got waitlisted at Yale I'm not super hopeful at this point with Vandy.

Thank you! Vandy is also one of my top choices - they have a very solid psych program. But I don't think I can hear back from them before Yale's ddl. ? Really hope I can hear back sooner and compare the cost. I believe you have a good chance with Vandy because it is already a huge accomplishment to come this far.
