MGH IHP DE NP 2018

Hi There!

Thought I'd start a thread for anyone applying for Fall 2018 entry. I'm about 3/4 of my way through the application and feeling a bit anxious and nervous about it all but mostly excited! :)

I'm thinking that people may be notified of acceptances in Mid-March, but notified of interviews earlier? I am wondering if storms have slowed down some transcript deliveries and they want to make sure the weather wouldn't impede people's chances.

I'm sorry - you're right! I checked last year's forums and they don't do interviews. So then yes that will be late. It seemed the past two years people were notified between late January and mid February. Let's hope for sooner than expected!

Another program I applied to also pushed back their application deadline, which makes me wonder if applicant numbers are down overall. Hopefully MGH will be ahead of schedule with admissions decisions, mid-March feels like such a long wait!

UMass Worcester pushed back their deadline as well.

Yale's application was due Nov. 1st, and like MGH, once the deadline passed it suddenly was pushed back to the end of the month on their website.

I wish UMass Worcester or Boston had an accelerated PMHNP program - I definitely would have applied there. With three schools pushing back deadlines, it could definitely be a smaller applicant pool. Hmm.

I really hope that since i applied Jan 1st much like alot of you that it wont affect the timeline of making decisions.

I contacted MGH on Jan 6 about the deadline extension and it affecting the decision timeline.

This was their response:

Yes, we have extended the deadline to February 2nd, but we still expect to have decisions ready 8-10 weeks after the original January 1st deadline. Your application was successfully verified by NursingCAS, and is now under review.

Today I received an official email stating my application is under review. Has anyone been accepted yet or are we still in the review/waiting/anxiety limbo?

It's too early for acceptance notices, based on previous years we should be expecting an update around mid February/March

So according to 2016 and 2017 threads, this is with a January 1st deadline, I believe everyone found out on 2/9 in 2016 and 2/7 in 2017. Hoping it is around that time again!
