MGH Direct-Entry MSN

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hi! Is anyone else gearing up to apply to the MGH direct-entry MSN program beginning in 2012? I'm currently completing my pre-reqs at bunker hill community college. I'm also studying for the GRE and will be taking in a few weeks, as well as at the end of July. I'm super nervous but eager to apply. MGH is my top choice, but I'm also gonna apply to other programs in MA. I really wanna do a MSN program because I want to be a nurse practictioner. Anyone else in the same boat? :uhoh3:

Hey all- got wait listed for peds... I'm actually excited for that because it's not a straight up denial. Good luck to everyone and congrats to those that are in!

Anybody up for creating a facebook page for the fall?

I'm Boston born and raised so I can help out with that. I think a FB group would be great. I'm currently trying to decide whether to live at home or get an apartment. I'm about 95% sure I will be attending MGH.

Hi Everyone! I found out I was accepted into the program on Saturday. I'm so excited, but I wish I knew about this forum way before- I definitely could have used the moral support. Happy to be joining now though, even if I got a late start.

So far MGH was the only school I was accepted to (waitlisted at UPenn and 2nd rounded at Duke), but I'm still waiting to hear back from Northeastern. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to hear back until after the deposit due date. Does anyone have any insight on how NE/ MGH compare or if there are any perks to going to a university vs. a professional school (or vice versa)?

@lek17, I was also accepted into the psych program :)

Hi Everyone!

I've been watching the forum for a little while now, but I figured it was time to introduce myself. I got my acceptance to the adult/gero pc track last Friday. Congrats to everyone who has heard of their acceptance, and best wishes to those waitlisted and still waiting to hear.

I'm about 99.9% sure that I will attend MGH, but I am still waiting to hear back from Northeastern until I mail my deposit. I really hope I hear back soon. I didn't get an interview at Northeastern so I think my chances are zero, but I don't want to commit to anything before I have all the facts.

I went to Northeastern for undergrad and have lived in Boston for the last 8 years, so if anyone has any questions about the city feel free to message me.

The facebook group idea sounds really good, I'm excited to join once it's up.

Does MGH Direct Entry Accepted Students 2012 sound like a good title?

I need a FB friend to add to the group before it will let me create it. Someone can PM me and I will give you my real name and how to find me.

Ahh, I don't know how to post the link. Give me a minute.

Try this...hopefully it does not bring you to the login page. The title is exactly what it says in an earlier post if you need to search for it. search for MGH Direct Entry Accepted Students 2012

Hey all, I was accepted into MGH FNP as well! I am so excited, however I am debating Vanderbilt also. Anyone have any insight? Mellzie22... I sent you a PM

Hi, I'm new to this thing too. I was accepted to the acute program at MGH, but am having some second thoughts about going. Since I'm not from the Boston area, I am wondering how good the program is? Is this a reputable school? It sounds like it is (based on all the other competitive programs you all are applying to...) but I read some limited student reviews online and there seems to be some negativity surrounding it. Mainly, it seems there is limited affiliation with MGH, which would make this school a deal-breaker for me. However, the NP program is ranked #3 in the New England area (although I haven't been able to find this anywhere else other than on the MGHIP website)... Before I drop 100,000K on my education and move across country, I just want to make sure that MGHIP isn't the equivalent of a University of Phoenix or something like that. I would imagine it's not based on everyone's excitement to go there...but does anyone have a friend or colleague that has graudtaed from this program that can attest to its merit? Thanks so much for your help. Grad school is a big decision for me, and I just want to make sure that i'm choosing the right one!
