Is anyone else applying to the MGH Accelerated BSN program for Summer 2015? How is everyone feeling about it??

Let me know if you'd like any help! I've lived in Boston for about three years and know the areas pretty well. I've also lived in 3 different units, and will be moving next week into my fourth (hopefully final) place!

I agree with housing. Looked briefly at apartments and they are around $1000 for your own room. If I do decide to attend, I would probably be looking to share a room with someone.

I've been looking on trulia.com, metroroommates.com.... But if im lucky I might have my own place

@ainyang6087 I think I am definitely going to enroll at MGH. I heard Hopkins do not make decisions till March, and currently I don't know where I stand with UoR! My interview was in late December, and thought I would have at least heard something by now. Congratulations on hearing back from UoR!

I must agree searching for housing is hard, zillow.com and trulia.com are my go to sites.

@ SKay226 Thank you so much for all the information, you are definitely a great help!

You can definitely find spots where rooms are less than 1,000! You do have to look very hard though...typically Craigslist works best. Sometimes you may find a young professional who recently purchased a condo and is renting out the master bed (private bath) for 1,000 or less. I'd say anything under 800/room is hard to come by but it is possible!!

Some older adults also rent out rooms (homestays) especially for graduate students, nursing, law, or medical students. It really all depends on what you're looking for. I'd say keep in mind that most of your time will be spent studying and on campus...so in that sense if you're okay with an unconventional rooming situation it is worth the reduced cost!

Make sure you look in areas like Medford, Melrose, Everett, East Boston, Revere...they tend to be cheaper. My fiancee and I just found a 2 bed for 1200...so 600$ each in Medford. Stay vigilant!!

Yes! Zillow is a great resource!!!!!!! Many on there are not listed on Craigslist.

Also- if you're looking to reduce costs further look for apartments by owner (eliminate the 3rd party realtor) and look for no fee apartments.

I'm compiling a list of possible places to rent... And in March will ne traveling to Boston to check them out in person... Get a better sense of which place works best for me...

And @sKay226 makes a point about studying time spent away from the place of stay... I definitely plan on spending most of my time studying...

Im gonna lookig into a part time job... that isn't too demanding.. If it is possible to work, I will.. If not, then I won't

are any of you going to the open house?

I wish I could go... But being in florida, can't really just fly back and forth from Boston that easily...but I'll be visiting Boston in March for a few days..

same with me, I wont be able to attend. But I plan on being in Boston in March as well, how i wish the open house was in MARCH :)

Hiii all,

I was accepted for the may program start date as well. I'm waiting for university of Rochester to get back to me but I haven't really found much information/reviews of this program. I know it's good but have any of you guys found some good feedback from people?

Thanks!

My neighbor went through the program and really enjoyed it. The clinical sites are really fantastic.
