MGH BSN Summer 2015

Published

Is anyone else applying to the MGH Accelerated BSN program for Summer 2015? How is everyone feeling about it??

My neighbor went through the program and really enjoyed it. The clinical sites are really fantastic.

Would like to know more about the program if possible! How was the online portion of the curriculum? Would we have as much hands-on experience given that the cohort is ~100?

I truly hope that some people here go to the Open house on the 31st.. To help answer some questions for those who can't make it

I'm sorry, I haven't spoken in depth with my neighbor. I can try but I'm moving in a couple of days.

I'd recommend looking at previous forums. I remember seeing questions answered in another thread. I'll search for it later

I'm also attending the open house and will post scans of any info/literature they give us on the Facebook page we created.

What's the name of the Facebook page? @Skay226

i've never lived in snow weather... so if there's a blizzard or snow storm, how do we catch up on classes and clinicals? are expected to attend them in storms?

A storm like we're having now would cancel classes. Each school decides on their own. If classes are cancelled, typically you would just complete missed lessons in the next class. Professors would decide how they want to react...some may want you to do reading or an assignment at home. This is just my undergrad experience...can't speak for the IHP.

Clinicals would depend on the clinical instructor, but I'm guessing if school is canceled, then they would be too. These most definitely have to be made up though since each hour counts.

MGH itself is always open though- so essential personal will be at main campus.

There are not that many storms that would cancel class. Don't worry about it!

Does anyone know when they will be sending out the financial aid letter?

Scholarships and fellowships were listed in the acceptance letter. As far as a financial aide letter I was under the impression we weren't getting one. There was an email that had the info for the financial aide office and that's about it. I guess if there was one it would be after you submit your FAFSA.

Not completely sure...

ok the deposit is due in less than 24 hours. i just got into Johns Hopkins today. I can't decide what to do!

Which program do you like better at first glance? What was your top choice? Where would you prefer to live? Did you get any financial aide from either place?

Also, consider...if you are hoping to stay in the areas to work after graduation...where would you rather live?

What a tough choice!!
