Mesa community college nursing schedules

I applied to the Maricopa colleges nursing program, and put 3 choices the MCC morning and afternoon traditional sessions. I also added the chandler/Gilbert campus as one of my options. I wanted to know if any current students could post schedules for the first block. I'm hoping to start spring 2016.

Block 1 at Chandler-Gilbert this semester:

Lab-Mon/Wed 8:30-3:30

lecture-Thurs 9-12:30

(lab times change after clinical rotations start)

Try going to MCC website, go to class schedule and search NUR and their nursing classes should show up. Block one is NUR 152.

Thank you! But from what I'm seeing, on Mondays and Tuesdays they only have class from 8am to 10am then Wednesday from 7:30 to 3:30. I am assuming there is more? That's not including clinicals obviously but aren't those once a week and isn't there more after 10 am on Mondays and Tuesday's?

Last semester at MCC, our Block 1 was 4 days a week: Monday & Tuesday 0900-1150, Wednesday and Thursday 0700-1500. When we started clinicals in Week 9 or 10, morning clinicals went from 0630-1430 on Wednesday and Thursday. There was also an evening clinical group that went from 1400-2130 I believe.

I know they changed a lot of things beginning with this incoming Fall 2015 Block though so the schedule may be different. They made the formerly late start cohort start at the same time as the traditional cohort and they also totally changed the curriculum around for each block.

Our Block 2 this semester we go twice a week for lecture/lab on Wednesdays and Thursdays and we have 8 clinical shifts over the course of 16 weeks on either Monday or Tuesday. So for the 8 weeks we don't have clinicals, we don't have to go anywhere on that day. :)

Clinicals are either Monday or Tuesday 0630-1830. So if you have Monday clinicals, you don't have anything Tuesday and vice versa. Wednesdays and Thursdays lecture is 0800-1000, lab 1030-1330. Keep in mind it may not be the same by the time you get to Block 2. Clinical sites and times vary each semester as well!

Thank very much for sharing all of this. It seems manageable and that gives me hope having 3 kiddos ages 7, 5, and 2! Yes, it could change and I'm ok with that... Just happy to get some kind of idea on what everyone is doing. Are you enjoying it???
