Merritt College ADN 2011

Hello All,

I was accepted to Merritt College's ADN program starting Fall/11 and wanted to know who else may be attending. Im really nervous about their program because of all the bad reviews. Is it just a matter of unhappy people are more likely to complain and there are people out there who are happy with the program? If anyone in the program has any advice id surely appreciate it. I received the request and hopefully I accepted the invitation correctly. Since I don't usually participate in social networking sites, it's all new to me!

I am definitely determined to succeed in this program. I have a lot riding on it! I am looking to get together with a small group to study once classes start. Where do u live? I'm in Brentwood, but am willing to meet at the halfway mark.

I'm actually awake right now reading Fundamentals... Chapter 17.

oh wow that's great chapter 17, I'm still in chapter 12 haven't been consistent, enjoying my summer :) I live in San Ramon, yeh we'll work it out someway to meet and study.

Hey all,

Did anyone purchase the Mosby's nursing video. Is it required? I remember the current and previous students in the orientation mentioned that you can view all clinical videos on youtube ... Anyone can advise.

I think the staff said the videos are required so I bought them from Amazon.com - used for $50 (or so).

Hey guys, I got 2thing to ask. I live around CONCORD area and its a long drive and does anyone live around here? maybe we can carpool.Please let me know =]

and if there aren't any that lives around concord area, I might have to look into getting an apartment and getting roomate. Is anyone interested in that too? please let me know. These are my 2options and hopefully one or the other works out. Thanks!

Hello ALL,

I have been reading this blog since being accepted to Merritt's ADN program for Fall 2011 and vowed not to post any comments or messages, but it seems as if this site is helpful in sharing important information regarding the program paperwork, etc.

I have a question and sent an email to the ADN staff but have yet to receive a response. Have any of you gotten your physicals yet... through Kaiser? My insurance is through Kaiser, so I had lab tests done a couple of days ago and am POSITIVE titer for two of the three MMR diseases. Measles I am BORDERLINE, so I understood that I needed to have the vaccine for MMR (again), BUT - do I need to have my blood re-drawn to prove POSITVE titer OR do I prove that I had the vaccine???? Does anyone know? I am asking because everyone at Kaiser seems to believe that I do not need to be re-tested as far as my blood work is concerned and it should be enough to prove that I received the vaccine.

Also, what do we do with our BLS card and all of the information that cannot be loaded into the Certified Background site? Do we hand deliver it to Merritt before August 1? Thank you in advance!

One more thing... I live in Brentwood and am looking to get a small study group of no more than 5 people (anything larger has proven unproductive). I would love to get together and study once the semester starts and continue through the program. I am willing to drive as far as Concord to meet. Please let me know if anyone is interested. Thanks,

Hey there, I live in baypoint/pittsburg and I already made a post about this but do you want to carpool? We will be going to same place monday to friday. I think it would help if we take turns and carpool. If u r interested, please let me know and also, I'm interested in having a small study group. It's so hard to find someone that lives around here so I'm glad I found this post=]:yeah:

I'm from Brentwood also and will be making the long trip to Oakland. I met a few others that are from this area (Oakley) that are also in the program, maybe we could all ride share and study.

Hey everyone. Is there an ADN website other than:

That I just don't know about? I got the e-mail about the syllabus being available "soon" and now (10 days later) it is still not there. Or am I just looking in the wrong place?
