The nursing program looking rather short.

Has anyone attended this school? Is it good, bad, okay??

Oooh, I thought the buttons were bad, but I would think its hard to move around in a zippered top! And a collar? That's a little much.

Peyton'smommy- when do you graduate?

The new ADN uniforms have a flipping zipper instead of buttons. They also have a collar and princess seams. blah. They are very formal and professional looking though, I just think the new tops really are kind of uncomfortable and like the old button ones.

Are the ADN uniforms and BSN uniforms are different? If so, isn't that unusual? I guess it doesn't matter...

Peytonsmom:

When you met with the advisor for the first time, what did you all discuss?

Thanks,

Specializes in none.

Hello, what are the prerequisites for BSN and ADN? and one more thing, I am foreign and I am not that fluent in speaking English, will my chances of getting in into the nursing program is very low? Thank you!

Note sure of exact rates, but there seems to be a trend that the class is reduced to half after the first year. At least for ADN, I noticed this trend.

LISA- not sure of this, its best to contact an admissions and maybe set up an appointment to see what their recommendations are.

Lisa, if you are foreign, you must have permanent residency (green card) and you have to pass TOEFL test. You will also need all your previous diplomas (high school, college) submitted to college. You should translate them to English, and then make copies and have them notarized before submitting. I'm foreign myself, and I go to Mercy, so I went through all of these steps. School officials are very helpful, so you should definitelly call them and ask for more details.

Hello VMSR, Thank you very much for the info. from what country are you? I am from Philippines, I am a permanent resident here in the US for 2 years now. I have a high school diploma and a college grades, but unfortunately my grades are not great. Do i need to submit it to WES or just send them directly to mercy college? I am really interested in getting into the nursing program at Mercy College but I have some worries, you know what I mean being foreign thinking if the professor and the students will laugh at me when I can't pronounce the word correctly or they will not like me at all. ohhh these thoughts are pulling me down...but anyway, are you in ADN or BSN route? what year are you now? What are the prerequisites?

Thanks Peytonsmom and LoveANurse...But I actually decided to give up my seat at Mercy and attend the program in Cinci instead. I know a lot of people say that the extra year will go by fast but I just dont want to be in a classroom setting for an extra year. Especially since there are the RN-BSN and RN-MSN programs out there.

But I appreciate the info, hopefully everything will work out for the better

Good Luck to you starmickey!!

are the tests multiple choice or fill in the blank for this nursing school?

So far they have been multiple choice, but I'm not holding my breath..I think it depends on the course and the instructor.

so are you finding the instructors at this nursing school to be helpful? do they review and prepare you for exams or do you just have to read and prepare yourself? also is the amount of work respectable?

also can you use calculators during the math tests?
