Merced College Applicants Fall 2019 Spring 2020

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi everyone :) just noticed that they posted the day they are accepting applications on Merced's website! Who's applying? This will be my second try!

I’m anxious about applying! Talked to my counselor at the college today and he made it very clear to make sure my application is perfectly done otherwise it could be tossed out ??? and they won’t be reviewing applications when they’re turned in like they have done in the past. It’s so nerve wracking. I’m applying to merced college, MJC and Stanislaus. First time applicants for all programs so fingers crossed I get in somewhere!

Specializes in PCT/LVN.

Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we will hear back sooner than May.

hi new student to merced and 1st time applying..

question:

do i need to have my transcripts evaluated before applying even though my schools (Delta and Modesto) are listed on prereq grid?? I'm confused because i called the nursing office and they said everyone needs to get evaluated prior to applying.

any help will do. thanks!

You need to have already sent them your transcripts and have the transcripts along with the application.

If your classes are on the pre-req grid, no.

"If your college and/or course is/are not listed, students must submit official transcripts to the Evaluation office one to two months prior to the application deadline (the official transcripts must be from other schools attended, NOT Merced College)."

"Courses not listed on grid (page 28_ could take up to two (2) months or more to be evaluated. Your application may be returned if evaluation is not completed at tmie of application. Students are responsible for ensuring their course work is equivalent to college requirements."

both are found on page 11 of the RN Application Handbook

Ok thank you! Also I’m assuming I’ll still need the counselor to sign off for the classes?

Just wondering if anyone is having to go through the same thing.

This is also my 3rd time applying. Fingers crossed everyone. Tomorrow is the day!!!

Hey guys! First time applying! I am so nervous, I dont think I have much of a chance though since it's my first time applying. I have heard of some first time applicants getting accepted in the past. Anyone know anyone that applied for the first time and got accepted? Trying to keep positive

Yeah I know people that have gotten in. But it’s just a matter of luck. Sadly but true.

One of the nursing counselors told me that they were expecting less applications this year due to the application period only being open one day, hopefully that helps us all.

I hope that helps us. I’m super nervous. Good luck to everyone!
