Wasn't trying to be braggadocios.

My apologies.

Merely, I didn't think there would be that many older guys in my age group trying to be nurses and only trying to be inspiring to them that they are not alone.

But you younger guys have that all figured out I suppose.

Not ego, Mavrick.

I wish I was more physically fit. It's hard to keep up when I have so much free time now that school is over (ironic eh? lol). Food is always amazing...Living the "bachelor life" according to my friends.

Mid thirties here. In good shape too, but thanks to some prematurely graying hair and receding hair line I'm usually assumed to be older than I am. I noticed that the men in my nursing class were slightly older on average than the female students. Plus most of the male nurses where I work are on the older side, too. But that's all purely anecdotal and likely means nothing.

Out of curiosity, are you a nurse or a CNA? Your screen name makes that rather ambiguous.

Specializes in Med nurse in med-surg., float, HH, and PDN.

Not a guy, here, but couldn't resist adding my husband's answer to age inquiries:

"I'm twenty-one, with forty-five years of experience."

I usually say I've been 21 at least 3 times.

CNA.

Yeah I am surprised at some of the ages myself. I see some older than me and it gives me hope. LOL

At one time I thought I was going to be too old, but it is nice to hear that there are others in the field working.

I am excited to one day put on "Blues" as I call them and go to work to help others. It has been a long time dream that is getting closer every day.

Thank you for sharing your insight.
