   You will defenitely need experience as an Rn in the L&D area. We just went through the same situation, RN to CNM without any L&D RN experience. None of the MDs would hire her and the nurses were having to teach her. Not Good! Good luck!

   I am looking for information on how often you are completing assessments such as reflexes and vs on patients who have delivered, gone home and been readmitted with out of control BP who are then placed on Mag Sulfate? Anybody doing this?

    As far as I know there is no test to predict the onset of labor. If there were eveybody would have it and the person who invented it would be a "saint" and VERY rich! That is too long a trip to take at this late date.

    The fact that you are an "older nurse" may be a plus. From participating on many interview panels, maturity is definitely seen as a plus. Dress professional, be natural and allow your enthusiam to shine forth. Good luck!

    I have been a nurse for 23 years. Have been in many areas, mostly women and childrens. I still love it and could not think of anything that I would rather be doing. Sure there are very hard days, even weeks, but the good outweighs the bad.
