I have started a thread in the Immigration for Immigration requirements for Australia/New Zealand
You will have to show AHPRA that you have had continued your professional development these past 3 years, but your other concern should be, what BP schools will accept such a long time out of nursing and how will employers see you?Unless you have had much experience in needed specialties such as theatre, ICU, and/or have post graduate degrees in these, employers especially hospitals will not look favourably on such a long break.Really? But others say I need experience within the last 12 months.
Hi im a newbie here, and im at a lost at the bulk of posts. I just want to know how to go about aphra registration. That's what you need to do first right? Before anything else,e.g. School, visa, etc? Please help. Any specific step i should do to begin myBP sometine second quarter next year will,be much appreciated. Looking forward to any replies... Tu.
HI! I'm a bit confused about ARNTP. I have 3 years gap in my work experience but I got an offer from UniSA for the ARNTP. I wonder if my 3 year work gap will be accepted by AHPRA for registration. I'm afraid money, time and effort will only be wasted for ARNTP with no assurance that I am eligible for registration even I finish the program. Can somebody tell me what should I do. Will I go for ARNTP? Do you have any idea how ARNTP will lead me to registration to AHPRA? YOur reply will be highly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I actually have my recent work experience in a polyclinic in Middle East but unfortunately I was not able to finish my contract. I worked for 1 year and 8 months, and it ended on December 2011. I don't know how will I prove AHPRA that I worked there,
without certificate of employment since i did not finish the contract. Another thing is, will they accept work experience in a polyclinic?
So, do you think I should not pursue with ARNTP? Thank you.
As far as I know, ARNTP works the other way around compared to having a Bridging program. In BP, you will be assessed with AHPRA first. If you have an offer from UniSA then I assume that your experience passed the university's standard. Just try to clarify with your school that you won't be having problems with AHPRA upon registration after finishing your 5-6 month course.
Good luck!
Hello everyone, I just passed the NLE last July 2012, and I'm planning to have my IELTS exam on November.. I obviously don't have any hospital experience yet but I wanted to pursue further education in Australia.. Are they still accepting students without any experience? How long will I need to study there? Would it be 2 years? Hoping for a reply thank you.. :)
I submitted my application to etea last week of june, i guess, i forgot the exact date. Had my interview last july 10, letter of offer was dated july 11 and yet i received it july 16.. Since it was sent to my agent first and only forwarded to me. I paid the tuition afterwards. :)
i see.. lucky you! :) thanks for the reply! do you have your visa already? i believe you will join the january 2013 intake. hope we could be classmates. anyway, may I know the name of your agency, if you dont mind?:)

I believe AHPRA requires at least 3 months of hospital experience for the past 5 years so I think you'll be fine.. :)
