So whats the diff bet your visa and 456?Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
If your school is under CRICOS then your visa will be a student visa which gives you a work privilege of 20hrs a week, if not then you can apply for 456 short stay visa. Sometimes, 456 visa gives you multiple entry but you are only allowed to stay in Oz for 3months per entry then you have to exit somewhere else and enter Oz again. I also have read somewhere here that a student was given a single entry for a 456 visa also.
I just finished my immunizations today. I already received my visa as well. It only took a week before my visa was approved. Also, La Trobe emailed me that there is an increase in their TF. Now its 10,500. Anyhow, can you inform me or share some info on any lodgings if you know any? Im a little bit uneasy on that. :) thanks!
Wow! Good for you. 1 week after lodgement or after Medicals? Congratulations mate... I also received an eMail from the Admission officer of LTU regarding the AU$600 tuition fee increase. I still have not paid it yet, have you?
I'll try to ask a friend if she can refer you to a cheap accommodation near the school. :)
keep in touch... Good luck and God Bless!
Hi!how are u? are u done with the BP?
I just need help on how to apply at La Trobe. I'm looking to do the BP on the earliest available intake next year (2013). I emailed them a couple of times already asking for details on the application process, but haven't received a reply yet. I'm also a bit unsure which are the right forms to dl and fill up.
Firstly, Did u send you're application by email or by post?
If it's easier/convenient for u, u can pop me an email. Here's my email address: [email protected]
I actually have a few other questions. Really, really hoping u can share youre experience on how u applied at La Trobe.:)
Thanks a lot!
You can check the website of LTU should you have queries regarding their next intake. As far as I can remember, these are the requirements that I submitted when I applied for LTU:
1. Filled School Application Form,
2. Diploma / Completion Certificate,
3. Transcript of Records,& RLE (for BSN graduates),
4. PRC Certification, Board Rating & photocopy of PRC ID (only for RN),
5. Valid IELTS TRF (Academic Module),
6. Resume / Biodata,
7. Employment Certificate (Clinical Hospital Certification for Nursing applicant only), and
8. Copy of Passport page with picture from a valid passport.
hello everybody!i am considering taking a bridging program so I can work as a nurse in Australia... I am quite interested to know information about La Trobe University.. is anybody here who is on the same boat as me...please share info on how to get started as I am still confused here..still need a lot of reading to do... thanks...
Before scouting for a school you have to be assessed with AHPRA first. Assessment time varies per state, some got their LOE in a month time, some waited for 4-8 months and there were some who even waited for a year. There were other nurses who were lucky enough that need not to undergo a bridging course because of their qualifications and experiences abroad. For more information, please browse AHPRA's website. Good luck!

hi! based on my interview, it was mostly about me, my qualities, etc.. then a situational one.. it could be any situation within a clinical setting. the interviewer also called on time, so make sure that you are available on the scheduled interview.. goodluck!
