Good day everyone!Quick question, will AHPRA consider my volunteer work in an OB-GYNE clinic for 5 months and will it suffice the recency of practice guideline?
yes, AHPRA only requires at least 450 hours of nursing experience within the last 5 years from the date of your registration as a Registered Nurse. For more info, visit Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Internationally qualified nurses and midwives
Dear AllWill need advice RE following:
1. School documents
RLE and Transcript was sent directly to AHPRA by my University together with the accreditation letter. Will I need to send another copies for RLE+Transcript that are ctc?
2. Are all your docs A4 size paper? As my board certified can't fit to A4 and got it CTC in long size paper.
2. I have completed all my docs+ICHC+COGS apart from IELTS
took it 3x Oct 2016/Jan/March -my writing is still 6.5. I'm planning to send all my docs+2 latest IELTS results to get those other docs assess first do you think this is okay? I intend to retake mid April. (to send the all-7 ielts result later on).
Thank you for your advice.
Hi.
1. I think, it is alright to send your CTC of RLE and Transcript together with your AGOS-40 to be on the safe side. Also, you can inform your school that they do not need to directly send transcripts and RLE to AHPRA; only the accreditation letters are required to be sent by them (but not needed anymore for Philippine nursing graduates).
2. It is written in the AGOS-40 that all documents must be A4-sized. The copying machine can resize it in A4 or you can take a picture then have it printed on A4.
3. If AHPRA finds a requirement that you are lacking, you will be notified through email and will give you a month to comply. In your case, you are still not sure if you are going to pass IELTS. Sending your english test results now without having passed the writing part, will not make any difference.
I think it is better for you to pass IELTS (mandatory requirement) first before you lodge.
Hi everyone! I would like to ask for your advice. I have received my LOE valid from Feb 26 2017. My contract will be ending by Jan 2018. I will need a 2 week extension for my LOE since it will expire while I'm taking the bridging program. I have tried to ask my RO for an extension by proving my Contract but the board delegate has denied my request. I haven't found a school yet so I didn't attach an Offer Letter. I am worried if my request will still be reconsidered provided I submit an offer letter from my school. Anyone who had this experience before? Any advice? I am aiming to enroll at Monash. However, accdg to them interviews for November intake will start by June. Thanks a lot!

Hi,
I would like to ask, you said that the accreditation letters are not required for Philippine nursing graduates? Does this apply to all graduates? Is it safe to assume that AHPRA will not require this from me anymore?
I actually have it already but I'm just not sure if I got the correct one. It will save me the trouble if it is not needed anymore. :)

Hi. This is what I know:
For supporting documents, see Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Supporting Documentation -- in reference to this, I did not bother to apply for number 14 (important accreditation requirement for internationally qualified nurses and midwives. This is also criteria 2 and 3 of the 8 Qualification Criteria) since the Philippines is listed under those countries that are unlikely to meet the accreditation requirements. See Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Accreditation requirements of the qualification assessment model to know more about this requirement.
In order for us to be accepted for registration, our application will be assessed against the 8 Qualification Criteria for internationally qualified RNs. See Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Meeting the registration requirements. We need to meet criteria 1, 4, 5, and 7 at least to be referred to a NMBA-approved bridging program. Criteria 2, 3, 6, and 8 on the other hand, are the reasons why we must undergo BP to be on par with the Australian standard of nursing education.

Hi.
Kindly see this link: Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Application outcomes. [under Refusal > Refusal and referral to bridging] It says that "referral to bridging programs are valid for 12 months only and no extensions will be granted." I think it is best to consult your RO first about your plan or seek his advice regarding your case.

Thank you for the reply sir. To be honest, I really don't quite understand everything on the AHPRA website. I'm still maybe getting used to Australian terminologies.
My confusion is I read in different blogs that we are not required to get accreditation letters from school and CHED since we are graduates from the Philippines and we are going to undergo BP. But the office of IHNA here in the Philippines advised me to secure the accreditation letters.
I'm not sure how to move forward. I guess I'll send them still? It's important to be have more documents than miss some documents right?
Should I proceed that way? I have them anyway, I'm just scared it might be the wrong document since my school doesn't know what I'm talking about.
May I also ask, I have a course syllabus which consists of 80 pages, Should I have them CTC each and every page or the first and last page would be fine?
Hi. Every page of the document should be certified.
