Hi paul_rn,

on question 15-16 of AGOS 40, it states that

If you answer Yes to this question, you are required to obtain an international criminal history check (ICHC) from an approved vendor, who will provide a

check reference number and ICHC reference page.

does this mean that I don't need to do this now? and an NBI clearance would suffice for lodging and application?

(again, sorry it may have been asked before and I might have follow up questions later on. I just haven't thought of them yet.)

You need to get your international police check online with fit2work.com.au. This is their approved vendor. Not NBI. Include this in your application to Ahpra.

Hello everyone.

I would just to be clarified concerning my work experience. I'm an RN but I do not have any nursing experience when I was in Philippines. I am currently working now here in Riyadh, KSA as a Homecare Nurse and will finish my contract on August this year. Will the 2 years nursing experience that I will be gaining here in Saudi be enough to qualify to the APHRA's requirements?

I have read from other threads before that the experience needed should be from your own country.

Hi. About AGOS-40:

Q15 -- This about having a criminal hx.

Q16 -- This about stating the countries you have been living or have lived primarily for 6 months or longer when you are 18 y/o and older. You only answer "No" if you have not been outside Australia and have not lived for 6 months and longer in countries outside Australia.

NBI clearance is not needed in AHPRA application. However, you can just use this as an addition to your Identity Requirement if you already have one.

Since you will be answering "Yes" in Q16, you need to have an ICHC from an AHPRA-approved vendor. See this link about International Criminal History Check detail --> Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - International criminal history checks

Hi. As far as I know, it was not stated that you should have nursing experience from your own country in order to qualify for Recency of Practice Registration Standard. You just need to have at least 450 hours of practice within the past 5 years.

Since you have 2 years of experience, that is already way beyond the minimum requirement.

See this link for more info --> Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Recency of practice
