I have started a thread in the Immigration for Immigration requirements for Australia/New Zealand
Look, I have a very negative look on agencies. Ever heard of the phrase "No free meals"? Agencies prey on applicatiants and hope we turn a blind eye. Take it from me, I used an agency to get here and after a nightmare of problems, I finally pushed throug and on the last phase of this joyride. Be VERY careful of them, the information we need is right here and accommodations are usually arranged by the schools anyway, if you can forgo the agency, save yourself the trouble.
@official: The thing with Monash that I find attractive is firstly the name. It's an Ivy league uni, I'm not sure about the scholarship, there are organizations like Aus aide but younare expected to come back and transfer your skills and knowledge to your home country. I'll ask around though, I don't want any strings attached. Second apart from the name is that some modules are delivered online... This would save me from maintaining two lease agreements although it's only for 3 weeks. Oh well, decisions, decisions. In the end, all that matters is we get what is needed for the SOL and enough points.
@jmolina1985I am one of the applicants for the scholarship for the Monash Uni's program. If you'll email the Monash Nursing Academy, they will redirect you to Auss One Corp. Auss One Corp facilitates all applications for the program. They postponed all 3 intakes for the program this year because of the long waiting time. As of now, you'll just see on Monash Uni's site that it may start on early 2015. Auss One Corp is linked/tied to Education Linkages Philippines and Australia. Last August, I had an interview with them and passed the screening but until today I am waiting for the final decision if I passed the "scholarship" part. I am not yet tied with that said corporations, I haven't signed any agreement yet because I am still waiting if I passed the scholarship, just being practical and sure. Although, I am updating them with my situation and once in a while we exchange emails (Auss One/ELP Phil/Aus).
To be honest, I myself cannot guarantee if the scholarship is genuine. If I am one of the recipients of the scholarships, I'll bite it. It will not save me the entire cost. Remember that these are corporations and it's business. And yes, it's a loan that you should make for the entire cost, less the tuition fee but PLUS other (agency fees) which in reality, if you can pay the whole amount immediately, can only save you by around 2,000 AUD (own forsight of computation). But if the interest keeps coming, it'll be more. If no scholarships, no way.
The perks are you can go for BP by paying less at first (less hassle), they can facilitate for everything such as accommodation, they can refer you to their affiliated hospitals after BP for job (although, no guarantee), they can facilitate for visa needs from business visa, employer nominated to permanent residency. It's a concerted effort for them but since it's a business, you have to pay for that which I already included in my computation.
An update from them still does not give the final date for the the program but it is possible that it can be January 2015.
I am reading this forum for quite sometime now. @Official02 I am an applicant as well for the Monash Uni Scholarship program. I passed the initial Interview last month. Education Linkages Philippines submitted my application to Australia and required me to make a Letter of Intent. Done with all these things but I did not sign the agreement as well. I am waiting for the scholarship result. As of now, I am currently waiting for my LOE since Dec 2013. You are lucky that you were able to receive it.
@jmolina1985
Right. That's why I am not yet signing up with them. I require a valid proof that they will cover that 13,750 tuition fee for free. If not, then goodbye. And true enough, Monash is Monash. And I only need to stay for 7 weeks for the intensive and clinical phase. They require a business visitor visa for this which is valid for 13 weeks. I still have 6 weeks to tour around and wait for registration.
And please, if you time, try to ring Monash Nursing Academy and Auss One Corp. Overseas call is expensive. Haha. Thank you.
Hi guys,So far I e.mailed all listed schools as board approved providers. I'll give them until Friday to respond before posting it here. La Trobe uni has a June 1 intake for 12500. Remember though that that is in BENDIGO, between Deakin and La Trobe I would go for Deakin as it is in Melbourne and has good access for Trams and Train services. I am eyeing Monash although that 5 year post grad experience is something to be concerned about but still waiting for a formal response.
hi, are you making a list of of unis how much the feees are and start dates? for bps? or other courses? would you mind sending me a pm when you do? i dont always get to follow the thread you see. many thanks.. and yeah, im still in England, i dont think ill move to aus until mid next year.

Good day guys, its been a while since I posted on this site. For recap, I took my bp last March in IHNA Melbourne and yes it was once $ 12500 course fee but I received an email from them lately that they'll be giving a discount for upcoming batch in 2015. (Good for them,lol). Some of my Filipino classmates were offered free accommodation in the hostel which normally costs $3000 for 12 weeks. But I stayed in Altona, a few blocks away from the school which is only 130/week for a month before flying to Canberra for my clinical placements for 6 weeks.

I finished my bp last June then flew back in the Philippines because my visa is about to expire. I have multiple entry tourist visa for a year. Since June, I kept on applying for jobs but they always asked me if I have work rights in Australia. You see, its not about the registration anymore or the experience that matter here. Its all about the visa thing. Correct me if I am wrong but I can only work in Australia if I have student visa, current work visa, permanent resident, or other visas which allow me to work. So, the next thing I did, is to have my ANMAC assessment done. Now, I already received my letter from ANMAC so I can apply for pr once invited. But I need to be in Australia before applying for faster processing. That's the truth guys, they dont sponsor jobs as much as they do in the past. If you are lucky enough, then you will find one especially those with OR/Theater experience. If you are on a loan with high interest, its better to seek backup because in my experience, my expenses didn't end after bridging program. There are still things to pay after that if you want to work in Australia. The real stress comes after the bp, so watch out for it if you are not financially prepared. Even I has cried alot so you have to be ready for everything. Im not stopping you guys Im just giving you lots of info of what is truly happening. Goodluck and Mabuhay pinoys!
Hi guys,
I have sent e-mails to all the schools which conduct the BP which are board approved; lifted from AHPRA's website.
I have collated all their responses in the link below.
Notes:
>> These are initial questions, some of them require follow-up. If any of you would pursue them, send me a PM and I will update the list.
>> Not all schools have given their response yet. I will update as I get more.
>> It is important to take note of their board approval dates. Clarify with them if they offer you a place beyond the validity of their accreditation.
>> Most of them have common requirements regarding vaccine, etc. I encourage to ask them personally for any additional requirements. So far, Lonsdale Institute offered the most comprehensive requirement list.
Cheers and good hunting!
Please correct me if i am wrong regarding the steps and timeline.
1.. AHPRA- waiting for decision letter for a bridging program
2. BP- 3 months
3. ANMAC - 3-4 months (one cannot apply to ANMAC without the LOE from AHPRA - BASICALLY For RN without registration from qualified countries, and appropriate working visa)
4. DIBP -PR visa application if cannot find a sponsor
@aui24k
Well for ANMAC, that should be registration by AHPRA if you're for modified assessment. You need a certificate of registration and your name should be on public register (online) from AHPRA for evidence.
For DIBP, you must satisfy the point system which I hope would not change criteria by next year. If you have less than 60 points, you may try state sponsorship which may take a little longer and may need more funds. If with 60 points and above (probably can be met if with 3 years experience or all 8 in IELTS or combination of other criteria), we can try skilled-independent. Processing times vary according to time of the year. For the cost of the visa, it's around 120,000 php.
