I have started a thread in the Immigration for Immigration requirements for Australia/New Zealand
Still no news eh? Oh well, I suppose there's no point rushing it as long as we'll get there.
I'm somehow excited for those of you who will be doing it through ACN in Burwood, NSW because you've basically formed a groupie.
With my circumstances, even if the letter comes tomorrow, the most likely intake I could join would be IHNA's Melbourne March 30. Anyway, I thought I'd chip in the success stories for BPs:
Australia snares Filipino nursing high flyers
I know both of them personally but more of the bloke because we were good troops back in nursing school. He joined IHNA's intake on January 2013 and if memory serves me right, he got his PR in November the same year. Pure guts, a genius' brain, and lots of prayer got him there faster than some of my friends here in VIC has.
Coming from his own mouth [translated into English]:
"I had no other aces in my sleeve, this was the last shot I can call for my career as after 5 years in the PH I was stuck". Edgar and myself go way back so he doesn't mind me throwing in hard questions. When asked why didn't he go for the more risk-averse option (which was the conversion method), he said that if he had the resources he would but he didn't. He was aware that the BP was very risky but he decided to shoot for the moon anyway and he was rewarded for it.
He gave me and my friends who came to Aus under a different program (not nursing) that there is hope. There will be difficulties but as long as you're on top of it and not lose focus, we'll get there. Speaking from experience in my stay here in Australia, plans rarely tun out the way it should but there's always ways around it for those with enough perseverance.
Now, if anyone is interested on joining me on the March 30 intake in Melbourne, let me know. We don't have the letters yet but we'll get there. :)
indeed, Ahpra has all the right to do as they please..
But I just realized, it's quite unfair...
They halt the processing of applications for more than a year now since 2013 of August, when they could've just did their so called "research regarding new standards" while the process is on going and implement it 3mos. prior to new applicants. That would've been more reasonable.. Something smells fishy. It's just unfair for the lives of thousands, and a year lost is no joke..
I reckon they owe us a cup of coffee each... -_-
I can sympathize but rather than a cuppa I reckon I'd appreciate more consideration. I e-mailed my RO yesterday regarding IELTS/OET validity expiring before the BP is concluded. Took him a while to respond but I was given an official document stating that I will have to present valid scores for tye language proficiency. Sad, I was lucky with the IELTS but I'm not sure if I can pull it off again so I'm looking at that painful 587$ OET exam.
When is your IELTS going to expire jmolina1985? I have the same thoughts but I have to fill my head with positive thoughts while waiting since I am not sure I'll be lucky again to get a 7 in all bands if retake. Hoping our LOEs will be released soon ?
Feb 13 2015 unfortunately. I will still try to argue on two grounds: I've just finished my studies here and that I work in an environment using English as a standard medium but that's very optimistic on my side.
You guys got it once. I'm sure you will get it right again. I'll share to you a link I used while reviewing for my IELTS this year. It helped me greatly.
This other one is a youtube channel for listening.

Good luck!:)
@AHPRA: @submittedBYron applications being assessed continuously. Board & its delegates meet frequently to review and decide on applications (1/2)
@AHPRA: @submittedBYron As each application is unique, number assessed at each meeting varies. (2/2)
That's AHPRA's latest tweet. Again, I don't want to believe their words, it's unreliable and undependable. For the past months, I have realized that many times they don't stay true to their words. Now, let me ask how frequent is "frequently"? I thought they only meet fortnightly. My RO said, althought not confirmed, my app will be considered late Oct or Nov.

My biggest worry for all AHPRA's shortcomings is re-sitting IELTS. It's no joke. I won't only be using for AHPRA and they should realize that. We need that for BP too and yes for PR application. It's no joke to review again, book a test, sit for it, wait for the results.
