This is confusing. He said yes and you said no, given that you have your ahpra license.

once you have your AHPRA license then you are now eligible for 457 visa grant. just present it once you lodge your application..

it is on the site. www. immi.gov. au, for your reference.

Given that you now have your AHPRA license it is understood already that you have a valid IELTS result because you cannot register to AHPRA without having a valid IELTS.

Why not try to do your own research....It is better to get the information first hand than rely solely on what other forumers are stating here...I don't mean that they are incorrect but they should only serve as your guide. Don't question them right away if you didn't even try to exert an effort in seeking the answer to your question :)

Nurses, after the BP, do they still need an unexpired IELTS for post-registration and 457 visa processing? pls enlighten me thanks

Mark,, IELTS is one of the requirements of AHPRA when you register after your BP.. It must not be expired yet by the time you finished BP and continue the registration back to AHPRA..

Hi stereo, you said you did not pass the interview for AAON? Are you still looking for a BP school or have you already found a BP school?

My IELTS expired last June and my LOE this October so it's difficult to say that I can still find a BP school and finish the course before my LOE expires. AHPRA VIC is so strict when in comes to asking for an extension and whatever I say will not change my registration manager's mind so I have to request for a refund of my registration fee and re-apply as soon as possible. I'm retaking the IELTS next month.

I have pending applications at La Trobe and IHNA so I can always ask for an offer letter once I have my valid straight 7.0 IELTS and new LOE.

is that through skype? can we see them and for how long have you had your interview?

It's telephonic, through my mobile phone.. Sorry I can't remember the exact questions. But even if I know the questions, it wouldn't be all the same for all interviews for sure.. Therefore, just be ready. And creative enough, if you know what I mean.

So it means that I have to finish the bridging program before my LOE expires? That's sad. Why were you not able to start applying for BP earlier?

I have applied but was undecided when the first offer letter from AAON for the April 2012 intake came last February. (The April interview was for the 2nd application). There were a lot of reasons which caused me to be indecisive and one was about my expiring IELTS. I didn't want to leave in April because I know that my IELTS will expire on the month I would have finished my BP. And another reason is that the agency also applied me to ETEA but after months of waiting they informed me that they could not get me in the earliest intake of ETEA because the intake has been filled (the next available intake is on September). Too late, my Feb offer letter from AAON had expired a days before they told me and that's when I realized I shouldn't have counted too much on the agency since I know I can manage getting an offer letter on my own, for instance, my La Trobe and IHNA pending applications.

If your LOE is from AHPRA VIC, then yes. Or just try asking politely and insistently and your registration manager may grant you an extension of a few weeks.

Yes it's sad but nothing can be accomplished if I dwell on what's happened. Instead, I have resolved myself on aiming a straight 7.0 IELTS in one sitting, re-applying for AHPRA Eligibility and then get a BP placement. Just one step at a time because if I do everything in haste, I might make stupid decisions again. I believe though that all this AHPRA Letter, BP completion and Employment is not a race. As long as I have a valid IELTS and 2 years of hospital experience, I think I'll be fine.

Hi patringRn. i tried sending you a private message but your inbox is already full. anyway I am still waiting for my LOE. I still have some lacking documents.

The problem is my LOE and IELTS will expire consecutively in May and June. Accdg to my case officer, once I get enrolled before my LOE expires then there's no need for me to apply for another LOE and IELTS. That's what she said. So now I don't know the truth.

Yes, your case officer is correct. Before you can enroll to any school you should have a valid IELTS and LOE. BUT after you do your BP before you will be registered to AHPRA, you should have a valid IELTS as well. SO if you will be finishing you BP with an expired IELTS then you need to resit and take the exam for you to be registered.

Hi everyone! Im just new here. Im having problems with my application for such a long time now. 2 years ago, I worked at a government hospital in SAudi and signed for a 2-year contract, however because of some personal reasons, I went back to the Philippines earlier than expected. I just worked there for 2 months. Because of a very tragic incident, since they wont let me have an emergency leave, which I totally understood because I am still not a regular nurse at that time, I then decided to resign and surprisingly, they accepted my resignation but with some considerations, one of which is that they will not issue a certificate of employment for me. I also was not able to file for a registration/license as a nurse under SAudi Council (which is basically like a PRC in Phils.), because one of the requirements was to complete a 3-month probationary period, which I did not complete. It was actually the first time that I worked as an OFW nurse, so I did not mind such documents were actually important. So when I came back here in the Philippines, AFter a year, I decided to apply in Australia. I already complied with all the requirements, but my case officer asked that I should provide a Certificate of REgistration or a Certificate of Good Standing from my SAudi employer. This is where my BIG problem comes in. I have contacted my colleague who is still in SAudi right now, asking a favor to request the said document in my behalf, I had all the necessary scanned emails from AHPRA to show supporting documents to the Saudi Nursing Admin that I badly needed that certification. However, it is just now that I knew that Saudi employers are not that considerate to nurses from other countries. They will not issue any certification in my behalf since I have not file for a registration under SAudi Council. MEaning, they do not have my file because in the first place, I was not able to register. And so, I emailed my case officer several times, asking desperately to just waive the said Certification because after all options I took, the SAudi Council cannot send them anything. What really made me sad and hopeless is that, Ahpra Staff are not that considerate and worst, they will have to withdraw my application because of that single document, which I feel is very unfair in my part. Can someone give me an advice on what to do...I filed last SEptember 2011 under WA,by the way.....I really dont want to waste 1 year of waiting and the fact that I have spent a huge amount of money all for NOTHING. Please really need some suggestions....
