Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

Published

Hey guys! Can anyone here give an advice about the classes in IHNA perth? Or Can anyone give contacts for accommodation? I already tried gumtree...

ARNTP is neither 18 or 6 months. Its actually just 18 Weeks. :p mustv been a typo error ;)

"its in Adelaide which according to my friends there has almost the same weather here and much stable than the other territories plus the cost of living is lower as well wc is a huge plus!"

Stable weather!! Same as the Phills. Oh please have a look on a map, Melbourne looks at Adelaide to know what the next days weather will be. Choosing a BP school to the weather, when this is your future quite estounding.

The arntp program is six months not 18 months. to have Phils weather Darwin, Cairns, Kunanurra, Broome are the best choices. Which have unstable weather, cyclones, tropical heavy rain etc.

Adelaide also has a less population to the the other cities and has universities offering conversionn courses to overseas nurses and also has 3 universities graduating local nurse graduates therefore low chances same as unstable Sydney and Melbourne to find work.

However yes, Adelaide less cost of living, but not by much, if you check out the rents etc

like i said, i could be wrong with the assumptions since im not there, and i just asked a couple of locals and they could be wrong too since your probably the weather man or something.

before you go around judging me, just so u know mr. guide, i have a bad allergic rhinitis and asthma, that is why i am particular with the weather. how can i be productive if i cannot even function well.

"the arntp program is six months not 18 months" it runs 18 weeks plus a week or so, like i mentioned we already have an offer.. or probably they send out special 6 month versions just for "guides" like you.

like most of the people who came here, we came here for help.. i was actually looking forward for your answers since you are the most active and i think everytime you answer, you actually help peope.. but i never came here to be judged and condescended... probably same as the people in this forum.

just so you supposedly know more than the rest doesnt give you a license to talk down to people and give them attitude.. i have my own small company and had run a town with a population of more than a 100,000... but i had never talked down to a subordinate or constituent just because i am who i am.

even if we brushed each other with the wrong foot, i hope you still continue answering questions and queries, because for every bit of answer you give may change somebody's life.... less the attitude of course.

cheers! ;)

people should suppose to encourage each and everyone here in this forum.. we dream and we aim to achieve it, thus we came up to enter in this forum to seek advices and encouragement.. hoping no one has the intention to let one's dream to be pulled down.. God bless us all :)

Hello guys. I'm collecting all the necessary papers to get assessed by APHRA probably next month. For sure one of you here knows about the immunizations required. I just want to know what kinds of vaccinations they require if there's any. I have already had opv, measles, bcg, dpt. Just the regular vaccinations from our city health I'd be glad if someone could share to me anything with regards to this matter.

ahpra doesnt require the vaccinations you had but the school is and it depends on the school's checklist what they need you to submit.

Hi mr.councilor, i had the same experience of getting that kind of "attitude" as well, some allnurses.com members who eventually became my friends, had the same feeling. I agree with you, no one has the right to talk down to people especially in this forum because we all came here to help and give pertinent information to all those aspiring nurses who intend to work in oz. I got some insulting comments from the same member just because of not getting an insurance while in Australia. But here I am, alive and healthy, with div1 registration and thank God I did not encounter any accident while in oz because i don't have any health insurance LOL. :) I'm glad prayers did worked. :))

Yes, it depends on the school but to save your time, you can actually have the basics like the mantoux test since it is required for every school i think. Get a dose of flu vaccine, hepa A 2 doses 6 mos apart, MMR 2 doses 1 month apart, hepa B 3 doses if your anti hbs count tells you to do so or get a booster for that and dTap adult dose 1 shot. By the way, have your mantoux test first before getting the vaccines coz sometimes it yields false positive reactions.

I think we are pulled down because of our nationality. You see, even in forums discrimination exists.

:cautious:

Hi ms. annie, would like to ask. For NSW they are requiring only these: dTpa one shot, Hepatitis B, MMR 2 shots, Varicella 2shots, TB - TST. Which state requires Hepa A? or it is indeed necessary?

I will finalize my immunizations before I go to australia this June and am curious what else would I need? Also Mantoux is same as TST? or better get mantoux? Where did you get yours?

Regarding insurance, what kind of insurance did you have? or did not? Did you have health insurance? Travel insurance? Lonsdale isn't requiring any. They said its up to us if we will avail one. For police clearance, they also said that they will help us get one once we're there.

Thanks so much!!

How's the job hunting going?

And also, what airline did you use to go to Australia?

I was required to get hepa A vac during my BP in ETEA.. :) i am just not sure in other school..

Mantoux is same as tst.. Got mine in the hospital where i worked before..

Health insurance. I thought id be needing it during my visa application but i was granted with visa even without it. School told us to get one for the clinical placement but i think its up to student if they want to avail. In my case, i did not.. And fortunately, i finished everything without it.

Police check. School gave us the website and we did everything by ourselves.

Job hunting. Received a call from a recruiter so I just have to follow up when i come back in oz.

Airline. AirAsia in Clark Pampanga. :)

I am just wondering what recruiter is that?

Thanks
