Meds to avoid handling while pregnant.

Hello all,

I am not pregnant yet (but hopefully soon!), but I have been unable to find a list of meds to avoid handling while pregnant.I have done multiple searches online, with no luck. I am working in short term rehab and it seems like I have come across a couple of meds lately that have the warning. I already know about avodart, proscar and chemo drugs. Thanks in advance :D

Oh crap.. I know of one. I don't remember the name. Its a leukemia drug that one of my patients is on. I will try to search it and get back to you with the name.

Are you thinking of Ribavirin? It's another med to avoid while pregnant.

The name is drawing a blank. Its a capsule. I will look today when I go to work.

ATRA, perhaps?

Ganciclovir, any chemo, and cellcept are others that come to mind that haven't already been mentioned.

Flomax? Proscar? Holy cow! So if in case I get pregnant, I'm not allowed to hold a single capsule of these meds? I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

Since you said that my brain is twitching and I'm thinking I misspoke. I had this brain flash that I'm thinking of proscar and Avodart and a quick google confirmed my suspicion

Flomax - I made a flub. You can take flomax when you're pregnant if necessary so you can handle it

Avodart - definite no,no. Sorry about that. :) I totally blame my 3 children for sucking my brain cells out of my body.

To be honest with you, I never give meds without gloves anymore. Probably a good thing, since I'm obviously going senile.

Are these meds that pregnant women can't handle at all or handle without gloves.
