There are already several different postings about this.

But this is the CANADIAN site, so can't we discuss Canadian topics in our own safety area?

Besides, I almost think this show qualifies as a "hate crime". Suprized no-one has brought that up. We've heard of hate crimes against the gay population in Vancouver, what's his name that had his OC taken away this week was charged at one point with a hate crime against the Jewish population. So why should women not be able to claim this is a hate crime?

Any future barristers out there???

I agree! Come on Fiona, Sing it with me..

:Melody: "O Canada! Our home and native land..."

We're hearing alot about "what's his name" here lately - overkill, actually. Anyways, he kind of makes me sick.

Another member here sent me this link. FYI.

The lyrics are applaling and down right trashy.

That's for sure.

On another note, my DW can't figure out why ANYONE would want to see my man-breasts! :chuckle

Seriously though, I sent an email to the writer of that recent article encouraging her to follow-up on the story, and thanking her for writing it. It was nice to see an objective article with no positive spin for the med students, IMHO.

I went to the link and read the article, including the lyrics. It is disgusting what some people can come up with calling it humour. I didn't find anything remotely amusing about it. It bothers me that with all the progress we've made destroying these stereotypes, there are still those out there who persist. What makes it even worse is that these were medical students...people who should have at least an idea what nurses do and how doctors and nurses work together. I can't believe that there was no faculty advising here, or at least some type of submission process for acts in this show. I can't imagine and I hope it never happens...nurses (or students) doing something like this to other professionals...I believe we all have more respect for ourselves and others than these students did.

There's a new letter-writing campaign to encourage some kind of accountability for these med students. I threw my 2 cents in there, and I encourage all others to as well.
