I have locked my keys in my med cart once, on third shift, nobody but me in the building. Gah, texted another nurse and she told me how to get into the supervisors office to get the spare keys... which involved an interesting sort of scavenger hunt for like four different keys just to get in the door, lol.
I am forever locking myself out of the med room, we used to have a pretty easily accessible spare key but nurses kept wandering off with it and she took it away (I managed to never do that at least). Can't wait for third shift to lock themselves out and then she has to drive there in the middle of the night : )
And what a bummer if you live some 1 hour +++ away!Once I looked the keys in my cart, and nobody knew where the second keys are placed and also once I went home in my pocket with them. Had to bring them back immediately...
But I've got y'all beat - went home with the keys on my last day of employ at the place. TWICE!!!

Thanks to all of you who made me feel that it happens to other nurses too. I found it today in a patient chart who was transferred to another floor the day I lost them. Thanks for your help .
