Hi there, I actually currently working as a research associate in UCSF. In total, including undergrad research, I have accumulated close to 4 years of basic science research experience. I have minimal to zero experience in clinical/hospital setting. The closest thing I have is an experience as a Red Cross club president in my college. I got accepted without any problem even tho I took all of my prereq in community college ( I transferred into 4 year university in my junior year). I have only been published once as well. Although, my GPA has been consistently pretty well but I know college like to see upward trend in grade.

So I wouldn’t worry too much about it!

Thank you so much!

@ns12  Hey guys! I just wanted to chime in. I've been searching for over a month. So if you don't make 40x the rent they will have you go through Insurent at most places. Insurent for those of us who aren't NYC residents yet and in the know- serves as a lease guarantor if you do not make 40x the rent (haha). I will put the link below. I am learning as I go just like you!!

https://www.insurent.com/renters/

Can anyone clarify how this would be determined? Would they look at my 2020 taxes or what? I obviously wouldn’t be currently employed while in school but I should meet that 40x requirement with my last year’s income. Does anyone know exactly how that is determined?? Thx!!

Hey everyone I am also waiting to hear back. What are everyone's thoughts about working part-time during the MDE portion of the program? Is anyone planning to do so? Would it be preferable after the first Summer semester?

I was thinking of trying to get a research position or maybe working at a clinic! Personally, I wasn’t planning on working more than maybe 10 hours a week bc I’ve heard that the program is super rigorous

Same here, probably an 8 hour shift once a week on a Saturday perhaps. Thank you for replying

Yea , I’m already a part time esthetician. So I may keep it to work once a week . But I heard the program is super rigorous as well and they don’t recommend working .

Very true, I guess it would be best after the first semester which is the hardest semester and also so we can get in the hang of the workload for a couple of months before investing a bit of our time elsewhere at our jobs.

Thanks @SB88 for the guarantor information! I was not aware that is an option. @Nat31 I am not a NYC native nor do I live there currently, but my understanding is that landlords would want to see at least two recent paychecks in addition to your W2 to confirm your income.

I should have known this was going to be a sht show when they sent me an email months after applying saying I was missing a LOR then sent me another email 20 min later saying they received it and when I sent them the original email saying they received it months ago, they tried to say it must have been in error bc they never received it...

yes it was definitely frustrating and it really makes me look at this school differently with how stressful this process has been. although I understand it is a pandemic, the application process for other schools is nowhere near this hectic RN. even though I should feel honored to get it, CUSON is definitely my last choice as of now

CUSON does not care about their students and applicants. They care about the huge price tag. I have became so sickened by this school throughout this whole process to the point of pulling my application out. Yeah there’s a pandemic going on but thats no excuse either if other schools are doing good getting decisions out and not messing up anyone’s applications. CUSON is a big school with a big name but I hope everyone who applied, is going for the right reasons for yourself and not because of the name. You can become an RN at any nursing school. CUSON has dropped to the very end and crossed off my list. I would advise everyone to really and truly think about that.
