MDC Nursing spring 2014

Published

So I'm starting the post for Spring 2014. I'm currently waiting for my acceptance letter for fall term but just in case applying for spring is my back up plan.

So my GPA is 3.0 and my teas is 72 giving me a score around 73.

Since I didn't get a first round email for fall I'm thinking of retaking my teas test so if anyone is willing to study with me please let me know. Good luck to everyone applying for spring!!

Does anyone know where I can find a list of the vaccines/physical exam or any other medical things I need to do? I would eater do it through my general physician but I can't seem to find any information. Also, I already didn't fingerprints; did that also include the background check?

hey! @hopeful_future_nurse- the medical information is on the webpage that has the list of 7 items that need to be completed by the orientation date. Once you look at your acceptance email it tells you to click on the nursing webpage. I think number 5 is the health record form- that form has everything you need. Print that out and give to your GP. I'm going to my GP and they are going to run all labs and do vax and tests needed all on the same day. Remember you have to go twice for the TB test. so make sure you try to get all of it done at least 2 weeks before orientation. You are allowed to repeat TB test 3 days after the first test.

I hope this helps :)

Does anyone know if the Background Check has to be completed BEFORE or AT orientation?

For the Accelerated (AO) orientation is on Nov 25 and the email acceptance i got says it can be done before or on the same day as orientation...but I keep hearing different answers from people at MDC.

Im from out of town, so I'm trying to minimize my trips/cost to miami before i officially move.

Sophia Reeves (the advisor for AO students) says its ok to do it on the day of orientation, but i spoke to others that say you must complete/clear it beforehand.

can you add me to the FB group?

you can find me by my email: [email protected]

thanks!

Hi everyone,

I am a new student at MDC, starting accelerated program in January. I submitted the FAFSA earlier this year, but the Financial Aid office said that they couldn't update anything since I was not a full time student admitted to a full time program yet. Do you know when we will get our Financial Aid award packages from the financial aid office?

I've been following this thread since it started. Ok wait let me be honest I've been following MDC threads of the last 2 yrs. Like many others I chose to wait to join, because the stress was already drivng me crazy just seeing the comments everyone else left. Until thursday when my email finally came did I breathe again and returned to the world of the living. Congrats to all who have gotten in. To those waiting to take a breath again, im praying for you, that you too will receive your acceptance. I got into the bridge program , gpa 3.8 teas 75. I met another nurse from work who got in with a 2.6 gpa and a 60 teas. So we never really know how it all works.

Guys what do u think about pearson testing at second orientation?

Hello everyone !

I just started reading all the posts and congrats to everyone who got accepted !!!!

And for those still waiting don't give up hope.

I actually applied for both the Generic Full time and Part time. I got accepted to the Part time although my first choice would be the Full time. What should I do now? Any suggestions ?

I Really want FT but if anything I'm still happy with PT. I have to accept by Oct 31. But how will I know if I might get accepted to FT? How long can I wait? Also, there are a lot of things to do and I want to start but if I start everything and then get accepted can I switch?

In such a dilemma!!!! My head ache isn't over :/

Hello Valeria2793. You should be able to start the whole process since the requirements are the same (minus orientation dates). I would speak to an advisor just to make sure, in terms of accepting the PT Generic by Oct. 31st, especially since I hear the e-mails in the past were getting sent way into November.
