I think the ones in those boxes in the bookstore are two volumes ($143). Not sure if this is the same thing on Amazon for $118. I got the international edition (UK) online and hope I can use it instead (
Oh, okay. Just wanted to check because I got mine on amazon and was surprised that it was 2 volumes since that was never mentioned on our book list. I'm sure that your book is the same however. I think it would have to mention somewhere if it was different?
How thick are the two volumes? This international one is just one book but 2 7/8" thick. The pages are super thin, a little translucent, so that might be a drawback. The manager at the bookstore actually discouraged me from buying the set he has (which kind of surprised me). He kept saying I wouldn't need it until later in the semester. One thing that worries me is that he kept warning me that the math pharm class would be very hard. I didn't really react, so he added extra emphasis and actually told me straight up I would have trouble in the class. Kinda nervous about that.
is anyone else unbinding their books too and putting them in binders? if you are, which ones are you unbinding?
pixie, yes, i'm considering debinding some of my books. but i'm not sure which ones yet. i've "debinded" or "debound" (proper terminology?) previous textbooks. sure saves the back or shoulders from carrying a bunch of heavy books. the only downside i've discovered, is when the professor skips to a portion of the textbook that isn't assigned that day. (like an appendix, or chart, or a different chapter, etc).

I've had the same hesitation about getting the books unbound for that reason, but what eagle says is a good idea.
Has anyone seen the list of books you need for fundies? holy cow! If we have to bring like 6 books to class ......yikes! I received the syllabus for my fundies class, so I was looking that over. I know we won't have to take them all to class at the same time (I hope), but I can see us being responsible for taking 2 or 3 at a time - and the thickest ones too!
