Zaptastic,Are you in the Homestead full time program?
Yes, Homestead (my old username was 'MDCdream'). I scored pretty high on the TEAS, but it was a total fluke. I guessed on tons of the questions and would probably get below a 70 if I take it again. I'm afraid if they see a giant drop, they will assume I somehow cheated and eliminate me from the program. Guess there's nothing to do but wait and see what happens.
i need a car too
The 2012 Nissan Versa is coming out in a couple of weeks - only $11K. Then again I've been looking at some really cheap gas guzzlers. The gas hog will cost me about $600 more/year in fuel, so still cheaper even after several years. Not sure what I will do.

Hello, I will be attending Homestead to. See you at the orientation.
Was the bookstore total chaos with hundreds of people trying to buy all their stuff?
Ugh. The more I think about it, the less I feel comfortable not having a car
I haven't had a car ever since I moved here 3 years ago. I've saved so much money using the bus, metrorail, and tri-rail. It makes me sick to put so much money into a car but I guess we'll need the time savings with clinicals and all. I live near Town & Country Shopping Center (almost exactly equidistant from Medical Center and Homestead).
I have my motorcycle, which has been my only vehicle for about 4 years now. It works well for me, but if we have to take a ton of books to class everyday, I don't know how it will work out. I live near North Bay Village, so I'm 10 miles away from campus, and who knows how far away from my clinical rotation. Mt Sinai please? :-D
Hello to all those who went to orientation yesterday the 18th,Please tell me that orientation starts 15-20 after 9am. I scheduled my background check for 9am the 21st, day of the Homestead orientation. Please, please don't tell me it starts at 9am sharp.
lazgon - From our experience these past two days, they did start right on time for the most part. I think you can get away with getting into the 1st day a little late, but the 2nd day - the day of the assessment tests- they start 15 early to get everyone seated. Hope that helps
