MDC Fall 2011 =)

Published

Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?

I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!

I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol

Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat

Thanks on eagleswings I called the Nursing Dept and asked and they said the same thing letters go out mid june and that orientation would be around mid July. i just saw on my program audit thing this :" Pgm Admit Status:Y " does anyone else have that. I swear Ive never seen that on my audit before Or maybe its my imagination.

I have been running ot the mailbox everyday. nerve wracking! :)

Unfortunantly I have had the pgm admit status:Y on my degree audit since I transferred to MDC so I dont think it is for the actual nursing program just the pre-nursing program...

It means you're in the program and you need to pay up or else.

I sure hope it means that haha! I really thought book advance was money given to me though...not a loan that I have to pay back =( back to the drawing board with my expenses list for this next year....sheesh! I am just so very lucky that my bf finally found a job....

Hey, I hope that is true as well!!! Last week while checking my MDC account and email, I noticed a note that says that I owe the college $1,000.00 dollars. I was surprised because I didn't know how they came up with all that money, I went to the financial aid office, and they told me that it was a mistake that the MDC computer system made, and it was supposted to get clear in a few days!!! Today I tried to check if it was clear already, but the MDC system is down, so I guess I will try to check it out tomorrow, but if that mistake means I got accepted I will be super, hiper, happy LOL!!! Let's just hope for the best!!!!

Did that happened with anybody else????

sounds like a glitch marah. i got the same email 3 weeks ago. right after that the director of financial aid sent an email apologizing lol

=( talked to the financial department and I do have to pay what they sent so I don't think it means I got in or anything...and it wasn't a mistake unfortunantly =( since I am not taking 12 credits this summer they reduced my award and it did not cover all of my book cost =(....I wonder how this will work for the nursing program since none of our semesters have 12 credits... I am starting to think that the pell grant will not cover books =(

How does registration work if we receive our notification after it has started on June 22? Won't people be locked out of mandatory classes?

The mandatory classes are for the nursing program only and if we all receive acceptance emails/letters at the same time the classes will be empty until then. Besides, they have to have enough spots in those classes for all of the students they accept. That's the least of our worries...let's get in first ;)

awww that is so sad. idk why the nursing program is under 12 credits. its not fair because it IS full time.... i've seen students in the f/t program have to sign up for those "sls" 1 credit courses just to make up the time... unfaiiiir.

Does anyone have any inside info on MDC's email about the new priority/registration appointment process? I wonder how it will work.

I think what that email is basically offering is to students who have already taken courses at MDC can make an appointment to meet with an advisor to get your classes for the Fall figured out before registration begins....but since we don't know if we are in the program or not yet it doesn't really help us...I called campus today to ask about the whole email thing and she told me that they will be sending out emails to keep checking but they are still working on everything but it should be out by the end of the month. Hope it doesn't take that long....

That doesn't make a lot of sense since full time for summer classes is 6 credit hours...or at least it used to be. I don't know how pell grants work but you can get a stafford loan as long as you're enrolled at least 3/4 of what is considered full time. I had to have at least 9 credit hours for fall & spring to qualify.

Btw, where is spell check on here? I thought it was above the text box but it's not there.:uhoh3: I'm using google chrome right now, I don't know if that would make a difference.

I don't know the way they give you your money really confuses me...but I paid them what they needed I do not want anything to get held up...oh I see the spell check in the upper right hand corner...haha!! I should use that I am a horrible speller! =)

Does anyone know how to talk to the people who evaluate your transcripts? Everytime I talk to an advisor about transcripts or pre requisites, they don't seem to have any information what so ever...the only response I get is "Well, it depends how the transcript evaluators look at your transcripts and its up to them what classes you've taken satisfy the prerequisites." I try to figure out how to talk to them and Im told that there is no way. Has anyone ever seen these people or know where they are located?

Thanks
