So far it appears like I've only been accepted into the part-time RN program at MDC.edu (Miami Dade College) for August 2011 (Fall 2011).
There is another LONG thread for MDC Fall 2011, but it isn't specific to the part-time program. I'm not sure if other students who have been accepted to the part-time program will start collaborating, but if they do, this might be one good place to start!

Hi Fem, I got a call a few days ago informing me that the orientation was in fact changed to Monday and Tuesday, rather than the Thurs and Fri. So Be glad we got all of our titers and tests and such out of the way early! If you have a school conflict on Tuesday, Im sure you can take the ATI exams another day right? Aren't they online?
I was planning on getting Merrels too! Ive seen a lot about them on blogs. I wouldnt buy old edition texts unless the professors tell you you can. I suggest emailing them after you see who you get.
Thanks for clearing up the confusion regarding the the MDC mishap. However they decide entrance, just glad I made the cut. Fingers crossed for Mocadell!

Did anyone find the schedule "Mr. Bill" said he'd be posting on some bulletin? I left orientation very confused about what to expect from our schedule. If we don't have clinicals, does that mean we won't have Saturday classes this fall?
Best I can figure it is Tu & Th 5:30-8p (ballpark) & Sat 8a-2p (ballpark) for the first couple months. Skills lab on Saturdays. Then we go to 2 days a week for a while. That is a BIG ballpark based on my memory! Sorry I can't be more specific til I see if my picture turned out. Now I have to study for midterm tomorrow!
I was hoping to meet as many part-timers as possible at Orientation.
Guys (and I mean only us the part-timers. You're a full timer?! Wrong place. lol) I went on to see Mr. R, first name W (to be discrete) and he told me that he'll put out a schedule this cominng Friday on the third floor of the nursing building. Still, make sure you have gotten your e-mail from the school about the background check. Mine came in like two days ago and it said was completed successfully. So have your medical history paper and background check ready in order to register for classes. Start reading "Health Prevention and Control."
My background check was A-OK and sent to me. But I have not received notification that my MDC received my background check. I tried to hand MDC the one I received and they said that was not the proper procedure; MDC must receive it from the Background Check Company directly.
I wonder which part-timers were the lucky ones that got to take the ATI exam on Tu 7/19? I heard a few part-timers did. I did not. Had a practical & could not miss it. I will try again on Friday.
I saw the fall schedule posted in the hallway. The full-time schedule had several pieces of paper taped to one wall. The part-timers was one piece of 8x11 paper taped on the opposite wall. (kinda had to hunt for it). Unfortunately, I didn't understand the schedule very well. So when I have more time I will have to ask questions about it.
Yep, still much to do in order to get registered for classes.
