MDC Fall 2011 - PART TIME Program

Published

Hi Everyone,

So far it appears like I've only been accepted into the part-time RN program at MDC.edu (Miami Dade College) for August 2011 (Fall 2011).

There is another LONG thread for MDC Fall 2011, but it isn't specific to the part-time program. I'm not sure if other students who have been accepted to the part-time program will start collaborating, but if they do, this might be one good place to start!

Sincerely,

Fem

P.S. Well, it has taken me 3 (three) tries to create a new discussion thread. I'm hoping this is in the proper place & location. I'm hoping I get some students post here. Collaboration is a wonderful thing.

Well congratulations on being accepted!

I applied to part time but haven't heard back yet, so you can imagine the thoughts that cross my mind.

but i have faith and if it doesn't work out in my favor, i just gotta keep trying!

but i'd appreciate any details you find out about the program like its schedule or requirements, etc. Just so i could get an idea

Thanks!

Oh and i was also wondering, before you received your letter, did you ever notice the on your degree audit "PGM ADMIT STATUS: Y"

I am just curious because to me and everyone else it seems to mean whether you were accepted or not. but no one has confirmed if there is a connection to this message on your audit and actually being accepted.

I appreciate you letting me know!

I got into the part-time RN program too. Would love to collaborate :) What have you heard about the program?

My status did say "Y" but I have read on other threads that there is no correlation. I have also read on other threads that not recieveing an acceptance e-mail OR a rejection e-email means you are on a waiting list for the second round, meaning, they are waiting for people to confirm or reject their acceptance before they accept more people. Good luck!

Hi guys...I too am praying that I get into the second round acceptance emails. Would you guys also waiting mind sharing your scores. I have a 3.8 gps and 78.7 for teas

Mine are a 4.0 science GPA and a 90% on the TEAS

I got accepted to the full time option as well, which I am declining, but it specifies the Medical Center campus. My part-time acceptance email did not specify either campus. Does anyone know where we will have lectures? Does anyone have an idea of what our weekly schedule will look like? Lastly, I recieved an email saying I could register for Fall as of this Friday, but I thought we were supposed to register at orientation... which is it?

Mocadell: 4.0 GPA on science pre-requisites. 3.2 GPA (Bachelor's Degree years ago). 81 TEAS score. When I was at MDC med.ctr.campus yesterday I was told they had not yet accepted anyone with below an 80 on the TEAS. Which conflicted with info I had received from peers. One of my friend's friends got a 79 and was accepted full-time. One of my classmates for 2 semesters I think her TEAS was 76 (don't think she was 4.0) and she applied to full & part-time. Only got accepted to part-time. Can't think of any reason why these people would understate their TEAS scores.

Faith: No, I don't recall ever seeing my "degree audit" nor seeing any type of codes/words indicating a possible acceptance to RN school. But, then again, I wasn't going for a degree... (already had one). I was just doing pre-requisites. So maybe that is one reason why? Only way I knew I was accepted was by receiving the email notification.

NRSGRL - yes, I'm highly confidant we will have lecture classes for RN school. Can't think of why you might think otherwise?!

REGISTRATION: I believe that the 6/22 registration date is if you want non-RN classes. I've been advised that registration occurs after orientation. But PLEASE keep me informed if you hear anything other than that. On the other thread (MDC FAll 2012), it seemed like 10 people asked the same question and got 10 different answers from MDC, so I always wonder if I'm receiving accurate info from MDC.

Sincerely,

Fem

fem: i agree we will have lectures :) i was just wondering if anyone knew in what location they're held

NRSGRL,

Sorry my mistake... I'm sure hoping everything is near the Medical Center Campus which is already a hike for me. I would consider Homestead location too far. I'm not sure why I assume it is the Medical Center Campus?! More information that I should try to verify.

Are you hoping for Homestead location?

One student who posted said she was accepted full-time at the Homestead location but she couldn't figure out why. She lives in Davie, FL. When I asked her how she knew she was accepted into the RN program located in Homestead, she said it was very EZ to know ... it was in the heading of her email. My email did not indicate Homestead, so I'm hoping it is Medical Center Campus.

Sincerely,

Fem

Yea, when I was acceped full time, it indicated the campus in the email title-- however my part time acceptance email did'nt list anything. I have heard the part-time program referred to as an "off-site" program so I wasnt sure if our lectures would be held inside hospitals (in the classrooms there). Either way, we'll find out at orientation.
