Good morning F.E.M (or should I say, "Fa__.") lol I'll be going to school today to turn in all my documents; the background check and the medical history papers. So, I'll check the schedule for the part-timers, us. Furthermore, when I went to see him this past Tuesday, he told me he'll have it posted on the third floor of the nursing building, to not come see him. Guys (and I mean only us the part-timers. You're a full timer?! Wrong place. lol) I went on to see Mr. R, first name W (to be discrete) and he told me that he'll put out a schedule this cominng Friday on the third floor of the nursing building. Still, make sure you have gotten your e-mail from the school about the background check. Mine came in like two days ago and it said was completed successfully. You guys! It was awesome to have met a few of you on both Monday and Tuesday. We were all there so early in the morning starving and what not; however, we were eager to meet one another. My little brain can only recall a couple of your names-sorry- but I'll definately get to know you all for TWO AND HALF MAN... I mean, YEARS! Let's go people. -KING

No, for the part-time program orientation will be this next Monday; ATI 'ridiculous "learning styles" test' on Tuesday. For full time orientation will be on Thursday the 21st and you know, ATI test the following day. Now I have to rearrange my work schedule and speak with my director. After all changes had been made. Then again, what else can you expect from MDC? This school needs new reform, believe it. This year they really messed up. First, with the May part-time program that got cancelled. Then... you know what, it's just frustration just talking about it. C'mon people, kudos me on this one.

Hello NRSGRL4583! Allow me to help you clear a little bit your confusion on the uniforms as well as the level of difficulty on getting accepted to the part-time program. Firs of all, the nursing uniform isn't that bad. It actually looks pretty nice; however, its price is high. Just for the top it's like $50.00, the bottoms/pants are like $20.00 plus like $20.00 for the name tag. White shoes, of course! I'm going with MBTs. Next, yes it is harder to get in the part-time program due to simple fact that most of us, including myself, have got to work for many reasons. So yes, more people apply to this program; the list itself longer as opposed to the full time one. Full time is pretty much for the fortune ones that don't have to work; their main focus is pretty much school. So far I haven't heard of anybody doing both. Yeah, right! Especially with Med/Surg. What are you, Super Nursing Student or something?!

News to all the part-timers: I recently got called from Miami-Dade College and was told that orientation has been moved to the 18th; 19th for the ATI test. And like the song, "And if you don't know, now you know."

That's what's up! Now concentrate on your studies. Get all your stuff together and hit the library to study. Medical-Surgical: this is our main focus. It's a killer. Now go and celebrate!!!

Congrats! Now, don't celebrate too crazy. On the other hand, I strongly suggest you get started reading Medical-Surgical. That is the main subject. Welcome to the club You should be very proud...

Oh, FEM... I've got to meet you, girl. Short message this time, I promise (fingers crossed). T.I is my favorite rapper and, he's locked up. The fool got locked up again. He had gotten released. Great. He was back, made new songs, new album. And then, like two months after his release from jail, he gets caught with his girl making an illegal U-turn and with drugs in the car. What the ____?!? He's the one that sings, "Now why u wanna go and do, lil ma. Now why u wanna go and do that, yeah yeah." And, "you can have whatever you like. Stalks on deck, patron on ice. We can bottles all night if you want. Girl, you can whatever you like." ENOUGH!!! P.S "you're delivery isn't as bad; sometimes I laugh at myself out of nothing. We do have a psych unit at work, though."

I simply want to tell you from the bottom of my heart that I admire you all.:heartbeat All the work you've put into your studies, the sacrifices you've made, the things you've had to let go, the nonsense you've had to put up with and every other little thing that has had such an effect in your studies... that you all are worth admiring. Here we are, in this post, commenting, giving advices, helping each other out. Celebrating. To those who are still waiting for the acceptance letter/E-mail and haven't gotten it yet. Be optimistic. :up:MDC really screwed this one up. Especially this year. Guys, don't get discouraged. Come on! You're stronger than that. Yes, you're worth the chance the opportunity. You've got what it takes! I know that. I can feel it. Last year I cried very much when I heard I had gotten accepted. Happy because... see, I've been going to school since I was five years old. Always in school. Always doing well. Just today I did like five hours of studying at the library and here I am, writing to you all. To encourage you. To cheer you up. I did two semester of nursing school last year. Two!!! Then one morning they called me just to tell me they had gotten me out of the system because the loans hadn't gotten processed to the school. I was at work when I heard the news. Worst of all, they didn't let me go home after all I wanted was do that. Go home and cry. And I got myself together and with watery eyes I continued working. I had cut my beautiful long hair and all. That's how happy I was. And now it's growing back and won't cut it. Guys, if you don't get accepted... apply for the next semester. You all pretty much have great GPAs and good TEAS scores. There's got to be a spot for you next semester. Be persistent. Continue your hard work and God knows best. It's amazing how things work out. Yes, us part-timers (sounds dope) will be stuck and doing god knows what for six hours. I hope they have food because you want to feed me. You don't to see me hungry! Lol Orientation day is actually when they're supposed to do my secon PPD skin ( I almost wrote 'skim') reading. Two weeks for this. Two weeks!!! Whatever, right?!

Me, me, me!!! I took it about a year and a half ago (yes, that long. Maybe two to be honest; since time flies like a...) and let me tell you it was hard. Maybe it was the wiener head of professor. I mean, ethics had really had taken over this guy: how he spoke, dressed, acted and read, to mention a few. And, didn't I tell you. The class was on Fridays like from 5:40 PM to like 9:00 oh! Clock lol The class is pretty much about philosophy, hence the name. You'll be talking/discussing topics and hearing familiar names such as Erickson, Socrates and a whole bunch of others. It's a very unique class. It'll take some of your sweet time so handle it right. I'm sure you'll handle "it" right. Lol Why do you ask? Do you have to take it? I mean, it's part of the pre-requisites!

I'd like to know who finally (since I think the list is already complete) got accepted to the part-time program this fall.
