MDC Fall 2019 Nursing

Published

Hello fellow students! I wanted to create a topic for those who are planning on starting the MDC Nursing program in the Fall of 2019. It's never too early to be well prepared. LOL. I have a B.A. and was able to get some of my credits transferred to the A.S. I read through the thread for the Fall of 2018 class and the Spring of 2019 class. Both threads have some very useful information regarding how to study for the HESI, scores needed to get into the program, etc. and many people from those groups keep in touch in Facebook and via Whatsapp. I'm looking for a support/study group for those that are in the same timeline as I am. Just starting BSC2086 A&P 2/lab and MGF1106 next week at Kendall/Homestead campuses. Also, looking for P/T work at Baptist Hospital or MDC. I am anticipating taking Microbiology and the Intro to Healthcare in the Spring '19, along with the HESI. Hope to meet some great people on here!

Just because I see it above my comment. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT A SPECIFIC GRADE IN ONE CLASS. Do the HESI and GPA calculation and if you are above 80 score then likely in and if you are above 85 then you can go ahead and start finding hunter green scrubs that fit you.

Thank you so much fgreen28 for your information!! It’s helped tremendously on what to expect. I too as well have been worried about what would be covered in fundamentals.

I calculated the competitive score, hopefully I did it right and I’m at about an 86 overall.

For the vocabulary I went on quizlet and typed Hesi vocabulary and it gave me a bunch of sets to study from you can make your own if you have time but I just used a random quizlet that had all the vocab words , I did the same for grammar and looked up a Hesi grammar quizlet. After I finished learning them on quizlet I just did a bunch of practice questions the more questions you do the better it helped take all that info I was learning on quizlet out and actually apply it. For the reading I just did a ton of questions and read a lot of passages and made sure I understood things like authors purpose, theme etc ... Hope this helps.

Good luck on your Hesi your going do awesome !!!

In addition to what Salma suggested also make sure you know all the parts of a sentence: noun, verb, pronoun, adverb, adjective, etc.

Hello!

I just came across this forum. I also applied for fall 2019 and would love to be a part of the whatsapp group. It won't let me IM. Can you provide me with an email so I can message you my information?
