MCG Clinical Nurse Leader - Fall 2010

Published

I have applied to MCG's MSN-CNL Program to start in Fall 2010, and I am wondering if current/past students could tell me when (as in what month) they received a phone call for an interview or acceptance/rejection letters.

Additionally, I applied to the Athens Campus program, so will the interview be held in Athens, or will I need to drive to Augusta? Thanks for helping me plan ahead :) I really hope I am the type of candidate they are looking for!

I plan to wait as well; I will probably get all of the books I think they will all come in handy in some way or another!

Thanks for all the research on the books, gals. Question about financial aid--I did the Entrance Loan Counseling and signed all the promissory notes...has anyone else done this already and know how long (how many days) before the loan award amount will show up in PULSE? I'm so anxious to make sure my loans are all squared away so I can actually pay for school now that the stress of waiting for an acceptance is over :-)

I am actually currently taking the remainder of my prereqs and am using my school's Student Health Services. It's way cheaper than a copay at a GP. I have had the hep series, so to get the titer is just $13, and to fill out the imm. form is an additional $5. Does anyone know what the time limit is on the hep b? My Firefighter friend thinks I may require a booster, as it's been several years since I've worked in the health field.

Also, any luck on apartment hunts in Augusta? I am from there, but haven't lived there in 12 years. I was looking in Summerville and Olde Town. Someone also told me that N. Augusta is really nice and just across the bridge from Downtown ~ 5min or a nice bike ride to campus. Rent's CHEAP compared to Atlanta! I've even seen 2 Br. for less than $500.

Kateo,

Good thinking about using Student Health. I finished UGA in 2004 and so have been out of school (full time student status, anyway) for a while. I forget that some people who just graduated might still be able to use their college Health Center to get immunizations. Thanks!

Adriane; I called financial aid last week and they said it would be about a month before we know anything! I know the waiting is frustrating!

This may have already been answered, but if I took a CPR class at the end of last year do I have to retake another one? Or could that one count? Thanks guys!

ugadawg--was your class from the American Heart Association? AHA is what MCG requires. I would think as long as it is AHA and it won't expire right away you would be fine. You just probably want to make sure and renew it during the school year if it is going to expire. I think that is a strict requirement of the hospitals that will be hosting us for clinicals that the CPR is always current. MCG or the hospitals are probably just going to ask for a copy of our cards.

Thank you! That's what I was thinking. It was done through AHA. I think I'll email OM just to make sure. Thank you for your reply!

Has anyone been able to do the insurance waiver yet? The site still won't let me select the fall term- a previous post on here said that starting 6/15 you could complete the waiver for fall but I still see only summer as an option. Anyone been able to do it yet?

nope, I still haven't been able to waive it yet. It looks like 2nd half summer waivers end on 6/28. Maybe the fall one will show up after then?

Insurance waiver/signup is open

Specializes in None.

Has everyone registered for classes? I have. However, when I look at the "week at a glance summary" it looks as though I am only scheduled for one class. How does your schedule look?

I registered also. If you look at the detail schedule -- 6300, 6600 have not been assigned meeting times.. and 6700 has a "time conflict". I'm sure they'll work it out.
