I have applied to MCG's MSN-CNL Program to start in Fall 2010, and I am wondering if current/past students could tell me when (as in what month) they received a phone call for an interview or acceptance/rejection letters.
Additionally, I applied to the Athens Campus program, so will the interview be held in Athens, or will I need to drive to Augusta? Thanks for helping me plan ahead :) I really hope I am the type of candidate they are looking for!

Athens Campus Folks: I emailed Student Health Services with some questions and here are their answers (in bold)
Hello,
I will be attending the Athens SONAT campus starting in August and I had some questions.
1. On the student immunization form, question D--does documentation of Varicella illness meet the requirement or is the IgG titer still required? The Varicella titer is required
2. For nursing students at Athens campus--do we have the option to pay the Student Heath fee each semester and use the MCG student health facilities in Augusta?
Your health fee will be transferred to the UGA Health center
3. Are students at Athens eligible to apply for the Pearce&Pearce student insurance plan or is this only open to Augusta students? All students of the University of Georgia are eligible for the Pearce& Pearce insurance
4. Is there any agreement between MCG and UGA to allow Athens nursing students to use UGA Health facilities?Yes, your health fee will be transferred to the UGA Health center
Thank you so much for your assistance,
Adriane
Also, Regarding Books/Book lists- this is the bookstore across from the SONAT and they will probably be the first to know the book list

If anyone has a chance to call and can find out when it is available, I can go by and get a copy and share the info.
I thought I was going to be the only student there also..lol..That's right, we did!! I was so excited when I found out, I didn't think about housing being an issue. I don't acutally live in macon. I live in Henry County/Stockbridge Area. It is about 45 min-1hr 15min. depending on traffic (it is usually bad going south, esp. in the evenings). The first semester I was considering driving but after the second semester I think it would be to much driving on me becuase most clinicals begin very early in the morning (6am) and Americus/Albany is about a 3hr drive from my home. It would also be about 3 to 4 times a week I was told. I have gotten a few suggestions from friends who live in that area so I am going to keep hunting and I check craigs list daily. My name is Jessica Parks (Ga southern) if you have a facebook that way if I come across something or you do I can contact you (visa-versa). Hopefully we can find something soon! :)
Jessica- I cant find you on FB for some reason.. My name is Monica Kelly (@ Macon State). Maybe you can find me easier! Ive been checking craigslist almost every day and coming up with nothing. The neighborhoods in Americus look a little scary, so I think Im leaning more towards Albany. Look me up on FB and we can talk more!
Do you guys know if the hepatitis shots have to be completed before school starts- thats what the website says but I just started mine yesterday and my doctor said that I will get the second shot in a month and the third six months after that so I obviously wont be finished with them....
Thanks!

I bet that as long as your round of shots has started then you should be fine.. either way that sounds like a question you should call and ask Olivia Mitchell.
We were talking about trying to get the book list, and that doesn't seem like it's going to happen anytime soon, so I was wondering if there are any students who have already started the program that could tell us which books they used?? I know there was one person who has been commenting on here that is already well into the program who gave a lot of great info. I'm in Athens and have a part time job this summer but am still really bored and would love to be able to start looking at the books....

I didn't realize CPR certification was required before matriculation. I got confirmation yesterday from OM that it's required and registered for a local class tonight. Did anyone else know about this requirement? I used the following weblink from AHA to find local classes: http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3012360
