MCG Clinical Nurse Leader - Fall 2010

Published

I have applied to MCG's MSN-CNL Program to start in Fall 2010, and I am wondering if current/past students could tell me when (as in what month) they received a phone call for an interview or acceptance/rejection letters.

Additionally, I applied to the Athens Campus program, so will the interview be held in Athens, or will I need to drive to Augusta? Thanks for helping me plan ahead :) I really hope I am the type of candidate they are looking for!

I plan on applying - I want to keep my student loans as low as I can. I wish we had been given more time, though.

Still nothing in the mail here, either.

Hey All.

I finshed my pre reqs today, yay! Really excited about a fun summer.

I am sure we will get out contracts and all the other stuff soon... MCG is slow with paperwork I know that from people I work with and their past experiences, just kick back and relax and it will be there before you know it.

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER EVERYONE!!

Congrats to everyone on finishing all the pre reqs and getting accepted!!!

Congratulations, everyone, for finishing your pre-reqs! I know that's a huge relief! Still no paperwork for me either, hopefully it will be soon. I just moved so am in the process of getting my address changed/mail forwarded...hope it doesn't get lost!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Got my contract in the mail today. Its not a lot of paperwork just some things to return to them saying you are accepting the position in the class at the campus you were accepted to, and a form you send with your 100.00 deposit. I live in Augusta so hopefully those of you outside of Augusta get yours tomorrow. Like I said not a lot of bulk to it, but the official letter is NICE to see and its one step closer to August.

That's so exciting you got your paperwork! I think you are probably the first one :) I agree it will be nice to see the "official" acceptance letter. Congratulations!

I just got a call from O.M. today and was accepted! I am so excited! I will be at the Americus Campus even though I applied for Macon. TIf anyone is going to the Americus campus and knows information about renting in that area could you please let me know?

HI JNP72388 I will also be at the americus campus! Finally someone else who will be there! My sister lives down there so I have a little information on renting. The campus is actually in Americus while the hospital is in Albany. Although we will spend a day or two a week in Americus as far as living arrangements are concerned (ive spoken with a current student at the americus location) you will probably want to live closer to albany, if not in albany. There are areas of Albany that you want to rent in and of course areas that you will want to avoid. I would definitely plan a trip to see the area that you are looking at. The drive from Albany to Americus is about 45 minutes and is all back country roads so traffic is/should never be an issue. Hope this helps!

thank you for the info amandajanec. i was wondering if anyone else would be at the americus campus..lol..i am currently finishing up my internship at georgia southern in statesboro, ga and will then move. last weekend, i went to americus with my dad and the professors there also suggested living in albany or leesburg. the only thing is i am not having any luck with any openings for apartments there and the ones i do find are in those "areas to avoid". if you happen to hear of anything available could you please let me know. i am worried because i don't like waiting to the last minute. i keep checking craig's list daily...lol..look forward to meeting you soon!

hey jnp72388 and amandajanec !! im glad i finally found someone else from the americus campus! i was beginning to think i was going to be the only student there! :-) as for myself, i am in the same boat as you jnp72388! i applied for macon as well, but was accepted to americus! oh well, atleast we got in, right?

ive heard the same about staying in americus so i am still debating on driving back and forth. what area of macon will you be coming from? maybe we can carpool or something?

Yeah, I got my contract today too- I live in Atlanta; so everyone should have theirs soon if not already. I wish it had more information, but I guess we'll get more soon!

Got the contract as well...very exciting! I hope to get some information on what books to buy. I'd like to purchase them over the summer on-line and used. Anyone have any insight on which books are required for the first semester? Thanks a bunch!
