MCG BSN Program:

....Just wondering if anyone (who applied for priority admission to the BSN program at MCG) has heard anything??? I have not and am getting a little anxious!

That is a great GPA. I wouldn't worry about Athens Tech, they aren't worth your time. But, I am interested to know why they said you wouldn't get in. It seems like they really don't accept anyone at all. I wouldn't worry if I were you. If I had that GPA, I would expect an acceptance letter because it doesn't get much better than that. Both of you have to keep us updated today and tomorrow.

Well, still no news today!:banghead: This is ridiculous!!! I called admissions to check & see when I would be getting the letter. I got a status change on the 9th, & she looked up my info & said the letter was printed on the 10th, but it has to go thru their mail dept., & possibly didn't go out until the 11th or 12th, & that I should get it tomorrow PROBABLY! Yeah, at this point PROBABLY & what SHOULD happen really doesn't mean that much when I have been let down so many times already! Well....we'll see what happens tomorrow. This is getting so redundant having to say! It's always "we'll see tomorrow!"

Afallgaier: I do hope that you will get your letter today..if not, soon! I don't know how you could possibly not get in! Everyone else is right, you can't get much better than a 3.9! The other programs are crazy for passing you up!

Let me know if anyone else hears anything!

Wow. You're mail runs really early. We don't get our's until 2 p.m. Well, I guess its good it didn't come on Friday the 13th. Instead, you'll get it on Valentine's Day! Good luck once again.

Yeah, it does run really early! Believe me, I was practically sitting at the door waiting for it to run!! I was pausing my DVR on my TV every 5 min. to check to see if I heard the mail car go by as it is a pretty loud vehicle!:D Crazy--yes, I know...I'm just anxious! It would have been nice to defy the odds, but I guess you are right...as long as it is good news, it will make Valentine's that much sweeter.

Okay all..... i got my letter..... ahhhhhhh I am in!!!:roll

....but.... ohhhhh... it is the wrong campus!:smackingf

I applied to the athens campus because I live 30 mins from athens. I got "alterante acceptance" for Athens and I am accepted for Augusta... however I must choose which acceptance. Do I choose Athens and run the risk of not getting in because no one has refused their offer or do i choose augusta and drive 119 mi – about 2 hours 19 mins everyday???

My husband and I will have some serious talking to do over the weekend.

Yeah - athens tech is really lame about the weirdest things. I can't get into both schools because my entrance exam scores suck. Athens tech takes the NLN exam which I was in the 79th percentile. The head of their nursing dept told me you have to be in 95th percentile to get in. GPC takes the NET exam which I was in the average scoring range - head of their nursing dept said that might not be good enough to get in. So now I am sooooooooooooooo happy to get into MCG (which is what I wanted in the first place) but I have no idea what to do. I only have 15 days to decide.

Oh noo! Well at least you did get in and maybe a spot will open up! Congratulations on getting in!! Im very happy for you! :yeah:

Now im scared though. If you got an alternate for Athens then it is probably already full. I only applied to Athens. So that really makes me nervous. I guess it will be for the best whatever happens. It is so hard having to wait and my status still hasn't changed. Im not sure what to think anymore. Maybe it is in the cards for me to stay here and finish my current degree. I just wish I could know now. Oh well, but good luck everyone!!

I am SO happy 4 u that you got accepted!!! That is awesome! I am sorry that it is not the campus you want, but it is still a HUGE deal to be accepted! And don't worry, I truly believe that IF I get accepted, I will be in the same situation as u...I only applied to the Athens campus, as I am married as well, & live 2 hrs. 40 min. away. I also checked "NO" to the question on if I would be willing to accept the other campus. Well, the other nite I checked my status again (don't ask me why I did this after I had already seen it--OCD I guess or gut instinct), but I noticed that instead of saying "Athens" campus as it always had, it now says "Main" campus. I didn't really know what to make of this, but in my heart of hearts I feel that IF they do accept me, it will be to Augusta & offer Athens as alternate & that is the reason for the change. Would you mind telling me or checking your status to tell me if your campus changed to main after the status changed to "Decision made..." That is ONLY if you don't mind. I just want to know either way & move on! Thanks for thoughts & prayers, & congrats again!!!!!

Oh, & to everyone else--DON'T GIVE UP!!!! You never know how they do these things!!! I mean, I know 2 people who got it--one with a 3.5, & another w/ a 4.0 & experience, & the 3.5 got accepted WAY b4 the other person, when you'd think the 4.0 would've def. heard first! So.....u just never know!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! I'm so excited. That is a huge decision to make but I'm sure you and your husband will come to some kind of decision that will make you both happy. I'm really excited to get a letter now because I applied to both campuses. I have a fiancee and while I'd hate to leave him here in Athens, he also understands that nursing school is something I want more than anything in the world and we've talked about if I get into the Augusta program and not the Athens. And, 15 days!!! Wow. It would be hard for me to make a life changing decision in 15 days. Good luck and congratulations again! Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!

Well everyone, my letter FINALLY arrived today!!! I GOT IN!!! Just as I suspected & said in my other post, my situation is the same as yours, afallgaier. I got a guaranteed spot in Augusta OR be put on the Athens alternate list....now I don't have a clue as to what I am going to do!! I guess some serious praying & :thnkg:! I mean, do I move or make a horrific commute or be put on the list & risk losing my spot & then have to do this all over again next year?!?!? UUUGGGGGHHHH! But, at this point I am just praising God that I got accepted!:bowingpur

So, now there are only two of us left to hear back? Well, I'm hoping that I get a letter by next weekend because I've heard of nothing but good letters. Congratulations to both of you! Now you can relax and have a wonderful weekend.

Well, there's no need for me to wait on MCG anymore because....I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED TO NGCSU!!!!!!!! North Georgia was my first choice on nursing schools and I wasn't supposed to hear anything until next month!!! Wow. I can feel that weight being lifted off my shoulders.
